Going through something similar. Be advised, for compensation everything is tied to policy limits. For example, if it is decided that the other person was at fault but her policy limit for medical is 50k (most full coverage policies are), then its tapped out unless you decide to personally go after her. If thats the case and she doesnt have the finances to cover it, it would take years for the settlement to be satisfied. Also factor in attorney fees, which is normally 30-35%.

Here in FL you can also go after your uninsured/under insured coverage from your own insurance company so that adds some but it's unlikely I get anywhere close to what I should and I won't go after her personally.

Tbh when I read that it felt like an insurance scam story. I mean why did she tap the brakes the first time? And to come to a DEAD STOP on a highway is downright reckless. I mean even if she saw a car stopped a mile away...why the hell wouldn't you recognize there is someone behind you and pull off?

This just sounds super sketchy.

Exactly what I thought. I never saw her and can only go off what the officer said but who the hell does that? It's crazy.

Looked this up. Was not covered in my mandatory philosophy class, or at least I wasn't paying attention because I thought philosophy was stupid back then. Nearly 25 years of life later and a daughter that is fascinated by it has made it much more interesting.

It's not you. It's just not a part of a standard philosophy course, at least in college. More like a scientific or mathematical issue at this point. Though I remember hearing of it in society, but never in a philosophy course. They tend to be more focused on issues that still, to this day, fall under "philosophy" and not something that could be passed through the scientific method or be understood mathematically.

Before science, everything was philosophy. Which is why every PHD is a degree in "philosophy" still to this day. But as we progressed over time, we were able to move many areas of philosophy to either a hard or soft science.

Most stuff like Zeno's have been passed into the scientific realms. Philosophers do question space and time in some ways, but physical motion specifically, not for a long time afaik.

"Brake check" fraud is on the rise. They take advantage of the old it's your fault no matter if you hit someone in the rear adage. There's all kinds of youtube videos from people with dash cams that show how they do it.

Oak Ridge history has always interested me because my grandfather and grandmother were some of its first citizens. My grandfather had just graduated from NYU in engineering, was recruited to come to the "secret city," where he met my grandmother, who was living around Oak Ridge at the time.

So I randomly come across and dive into its history from time to time. I read about the local "Calutron Girls" today and found the whole story fascinating (wiki has the full story, but this little tidbit made me chuckle):

Kept their heads down and worked. Lethal.

Local women were recruited because they were readily available, used to hard work, and were expected not to ask too many questions and to be loyal and docile.[4]

I mean, this seems pretty overblown for a verbal back and forth...

That said Shannon Sharpe seems fragile as hell.

"They didn't want this smoke" what? Is he really challenging the players on the court as a fan in the crowd? Get over yourself and grow up lmfao. Pretty sure "your team" can talk shiz on the court for itself. Fans are acting wayyy too privileged these days trying to insert themselves into the game.

Kamryn Waites suffers injury during workouts

Florida - which already has a shaky Ol (although they made some decent portal additions) lost an lineman to an Achilles Injury. Played in 13 games last year and started their bowl game.
It said 9 months for a full recovery. That’ll be interesting to watch to see if he gets back in time. It would put him right in line with our game with them
