Got one for you Nashville area folks...I grew up in SE Tennessee and later spent 7 years in Clarksville while in the Army. For the last 8 years, we've mostly lived near Houston. My wife is from Chattanooga and we've been itching to get back to Tennessee. I've got a solid job opportunity in Brentwood and we're researching where we might want to settle in if it all works out. I don't mind a commute if it means we can get a little more yard and a smaller town feel. I know we wouldn't be buying a place in Brentwood. We've got 3 kids ages 8, 6, 4. My oldest eats, sleeps, and breathes baseball. We're an active family that loves outdoor activities. Obviously schools are important. Any recommendations or advice?

Murfreesboro is about 40 mins away from Brentwood, you could look there.

Riverdale (in Murfreesboro) is a great baseball school usually. Siegel HS is also great at baseball (Murfreesboro). Oakland HS, Blackman HS etc. Murfreesboro for the win!

Hendersonville. Preferably in an area zoned for Beech High School. Good schools and great sports programs. About a 30-40 minute drive to Brentwood depending on traffic.

In Texas defense…. He wasn’t winning at Texas the last four seasons like he has here. He went 20-14, 16-18, 24-11, 20-14 with 3 first round exits… He has been on an entirely other level here… in the past six years here: 26-9, 31-6, 17-14, 18-9, 27-9, 16-3…. That’s the best regular season run of his career although 1999-2004 at Texas was similar.

I'm not picky on my basketball coaches after Cuonzo and Donnie went ONCE to the NCAAT (bs charge on Stokes, total flop :( ). I can see how Texas may have wanted a change and they made a huge hire in Shaka Smart at the time. In my opinion though, if you have a guy that consistently makes the tournament and you're not someone like kentucky, duke, unc, or kansas then you should be fairly satisfied.

At one point today my chest felt heavy, the stress too much. My anxiety was through the roof, never felt like that, had to keep taking deep breaths, wondered if I might have a heart attack. It just felt like too much....... Then on the drive home I gave up....... I told God I couldn't do it anymore, I give up. I surrender, help me! It's up to you, I give in....... Just help me!

I'm scared, but I feel a sense of peace now. Not sure where this goes, I'm just trying to figure out what's next.

I sat here for many minutes wondering if I should do this, I hope it doesn't break any rules but I felt like I was supposed to post this...... As a testimony.

No shame in sharing that. Took a lot of courage. 🙏

I took baseball into consideration. Beech = meh

Murfreesboro area = same distance and the baseball is amazing in that area.

BUT, both areas are nice, as long as he doesn't move to west Nashville in the Dixon area lol

I may be a little different as my superfan status only started in the early 2000s when I went to school here, but I have heard a lot of talk about when everything was great. We had good teams in basketball, football, track, volleyball, basically you name it we were competitive. I know we are champions in a sport, YET, but I just really enjoy every sports season know. I can't wait for the basevols, the the basketvols always impress me, the headlines being made by CJH and co are just fun to watch. I know we are close with these sports, but I don't mind one bit watching the rollercoaster climbing up before the real excitement begins.

Thank you, Danny White

Look in the Eagleville/Nolensville area. Great area with great schools and an easy commute to Brentwood.

When we realize that God truly is in control that’s when we find peace. It is a great testimony🙏🏻

Don’t you know, all we have to do is snap our fingers and we can get someone better

Murfreesboro is closed. Please don't come here.

;)

With the ages he said his kids were, you can't beat Goodlettsville baseball. Right down the road from Hendersonville.

Mt. Juliet, Gladeville, Nolensville, Spring Hill or Murfreesboro all seem to fit.

I did a renovation in Gladeville last year and fell in love with the area. Close to Mt. Juliet, but it feels like a small town with plenty of land.

It's hard to share something like this, but I've been there, and some may laugh, but you never know if you're helping someone. I've made plenty of posts elsewhere on here just getting stuff off my mind dealing with my wife's health, especially when I almost lost her. Several times when nothing helped me, except giving up fighting my hurt, and just giving that stress to God. Easier said than done, but at times there's nothing we can do anyway. Whatever you're facing, I pray it gets better, and you did the best thing you can do.

Remember all that leadership talk about UT becoming more of a scholastic institution?
Well the money is now flowing and the scholastic side benefits tremendously, SA grades are high as ever.
Well what foolishness we lived through.
Small minded people with tunnel vision were running the show back then. Hopefully, we'll never have to experience that again

Summer County Schools are good and housing is more affordable than Williamson County. The drive to Brentwood would be tough depending on when you leave
