"Researchers at the University of New Hampshire found that regular helmetless-tackling drills reduced the number of overall head impacts suffered by the participating players by 28 percent. This reduction was the result of removing helmets only for five minutes of drills after a few select practices — in this case, twice a week during the three-week preseason and once a week during the regular season.

In football there are so many head impacts because their heads are protected."
Could Getting Rid Of Helmets Actually Make Football Safer?

I always thought the way to take concussions out of football is to do away with the helmet, but this footage is making me re-think that. The rules would need to be totally overhauled in addition to doing away with the helmet.
They claim that concussions happens in the single digits in that league which is better than other leagues…. They eliminated special teams so people aren’t running full speed down the field.

Got one for you Nashville area folks...I grew up in SE Tennessee and later spent 7 years in Clarksville while in the Army. For the last 8 years, we've mostly lived near Houston. My wife is from Chattanooga and we've been itching to get back to Tennessee. I've got a solid job opportunity in Brentwood and we're researching where we might want to settle in if it all works out. I don't mind a commute if it means we can get a little more yard and a smaller town feel. I know we wouldn't be buying a place in Brentwood. We've got 3 kids ages 8, 6, 4. My oldest eats, sleeps, and breathes baseball. We're an active family that loves outdoor activities. Obviously schools are important. Any recommendations or advice?

Something Applebee's adjacent is a must.

In all seriousness, maybe try and rent somewhere within a reasonable distance of where your job is and where your kids will go to school. See how the traffic and commute sit with you and then if you want to go further out you can. Traffic is awful everywhere so just be prepared for that.

Your avatar 🙌🏻 Levon Helm and it looks like it’s from The Last Dance concert. That night singing “The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down” was magical!!

I'm not picky on my basketball coaches after Cuonzo and Donnie went ONCE to the NCAAT (bs charge on Stokes, total flop :( ). I can see how Texas may have wanted a change and they made a huge hire in Shaka Smart at the time. In my opinion though, if you have a guy that consistently makes the tournament and you're not someone like kentucky, duke, unc, or kansas then you should be fairly satisfied.
That’s setting a pretty low bar…. Barely squeezing into a 68 team tourney and finishing above .500 in conference once in four years…

Spring Hill and Thompson Station both have nice neighborhoods. Also check Mt. Juliet. It is crowded but also has some nice areas. If you don't mind a bit of a drive Fairview has some really nice neighborhoods at better prices. Good luck!

That's a good call...did something similar when we first moved to Houston to feel it out first.

Beautiful prayer. Would like to add my request for our 30 yr old daughter. She is ICU with severe preeclampsia and her body is in septic shock. They have her on opiates for the pain. Wife is with her as we adopted her at birth (wife held her before birth mother) and wife is having a difficult time as my daughter told her she thinks she is dying. Today is my daughter’s birthday and I can’t be there as I am taking care of her 9 yr old son who we adopted 5 years ago. Thoughts and prayers are greatly appreciated for daughter, wife, son and myself for these trying times. Firm believer in the power of prayer 🙏
🙏

Asking for a couple of prayers myself this morning.i have taken a detox period from alcohol, been a little too dependant on it recently. My father in law is in the final stage of dimentia, we have been told to spend as much time as possible with him now. My wife has been laid off for the second time in three months and we have have a goat at our rescue farm not doing so well. About to leave for a vet appointment with her. Please keep us in your prayers, I am trying to stay positive but we have been in a really low spot. I'm trying to hang on but not sure I can take on much more.
How can we help? We’re pretty good at that, you know.

no, im advocating for common sense.
The only comparison that needs to be made is to other football leagues and so far it has shown that not wearing a helmet helps limit the amount of concussions per year. They are trying out Rugby style helmets to try to eliminate them further.

I dont think eliminating the sport will do much. in fact it will only serve to make people want to play more.

Education, employing empirically proven data, and, time will show. People have a choice. Their call. I wouldnt.
