And I disagree. Besides, the holding call was the proper call. You may not have liked it, but it was legit. Even the DB admitted he held the receiver. If we're going to get ticky tack with rules, then the correct call was made on that hold.

My point is that you can't get ticky-tac with a mandatory call like complete or fumble. Those have to be interpreted by the letter of the law and they got both the sideline completion and the no-fumble correct after replay. The holding call was holding by the letter of the law, but the official makes a judgement on whether to call it. It is not mandatory the way "complete" or "fumble" are. Nobody would have faulted the official for not calling it because it was a borderline call that basically handed the game to the Chiefs. Most refs and most football fans would rather not have the officials determine the outcome of a game on a borderline call that could have just as easily been a no-call.

By the way, before you think I'm some sort of Eagles fanboy, I was actually rooting for the Chiefs. But that was a pretty lame ending to what was at that point a great Super Bowl.

So only some rules should be enforced. Got it. Let me guess, you were cheering for the Eagles?

I honestly don't know... what's going to happen Wednesday.

We will not be expected to win, and maybe the team will play with a lot more energy in a "no chance" situation. Still not having JJJ and/or Phillips will be trouble. Miller's size will make him an even tougher player to guard than he already is if we're relying on our smaller guards to do it all game. ON is probably the only big we have that could even stay with him, but he's not great at perimeter guarding.

And I still say if Goedert juggling the ball going out of bounds was a catch, then that was a catch and fumble/scoop and score on the other play.

It's gonna be like the Kansas game back in 2010

I thought the Will Ferrell EV commercial was pretty good, but my kids have drug me into the Stranger Things series, so I probably just liked it because of its reference.
I can’t recommend Stranger Things enough. Such a well made show. Especially the last season, wow was it amazingly good. Especially if you grew up in the ‘80s, like myself, it’s must watch tv.

I will say this though, if Bama shoots 28.6% from 3 like they did against Auburn I like our chances. Them trying to score in the paint against us could actually turn this game into the type we could win.

Arizona is the only team we've lost to that didn't shoot 30% or better from deep and if that game wasn't at Arizona we would have beaten them.

If you're still sticking with the narrative that the officials got the sideline completion wrong, then I don't think you're being objective about this. You are familiar with the concept of "borderline" right? If the ref had not called that penalty, almost nobody except for Chiefs fans would have thought it was an egregious no-call. The hold did not affect the outcome of the play because the receiver was not really impeded and the ball was overthrown by 10 yards.

I updated my previous post as you were responding. I was actually rooting for the Chiefs, but I don't like the call at the end to give the game to the Chiefs. That was a fairly lame ending to a great Super Bowl.

I've said it after both games, but I think teams shooting our eyes out was bound to happen at some point. We're in a tough stretch. Basketball is a game of runs. Sometimes other teams can't even hit wide open 3's on you (which was happening earlier this season), and sometimes they drain buckets right in your face. Things will even out with more games played.

Bama's 3 losses were by an average of 16 points.
They lost to an unranked OK team by 24 points and then turned around and beat Vandy by 55 points.
It just depends on which team shows up.
For TN v bama..........
Both teams playing their best = great game
Both teams playing equally poorly = close game.
One team playing better than the other = big win for that team.

They are two different scenarios with different requirements to be called a catch. A catch out of bounds requires two feet at the time of possession and maintaining possession all the way to the ground. After the juggle, when he secured the ball, he clearly still had his first foot on the ground and then got his second foot in while maintaining possession after going out. A catch in the field of play requires possession of the ball plus a football move. Two feet at time of possession is a required but not wholly sufficient determining factor of "football move". The player had possession with two feel but before he took a step, the ball was knocked out. It is clearly incomplete. They got both call correct. In one case they confirmed (meaning clear and convincing" rather than upheld. The other, they overturned, which requires clear and convincing evidence. Your beef is with the rule of what constitutes a catch, not the refs.

I mean, I'd rather Liam Robbins/Tyrin Lawrence shoot 6 of 8 from 3 on February 8th than Ryan Cline going 7 of 10 in March like how Grant's final season ended.

Granted we're 19-6 and could finish this season 19-12 if we don't get things going in the right direction. Small chance we could finish 25-6 too. That's just how crazy CBB is part of what makes it so enjoyable (and heartbreaking) to watch.

Vandy followed up the upset against us by going to Florida and shooting 52.2% from 3 and beating them by 8. First time all season they hit 10 or more and shot 40% or better in back to back games. If they stay hot from deep they very well could beat everyone left on their schedule, they get Auburn and Mississippi State at home and Kentucky is their last remaining tough road test.

Actually, the DB tugged on the WR's jersey, impeding his ability to cut outside. The WR made an inside move that the DB bit on, then when the WR cut outside, he grabbed his jersey because he knew he was beat. Mahomes saw it and threw it there because he knew it was a penalty. It was absolutely proper to make that call in that situation. The DB committed a foul hoping it wouldn't be called. To say the WR was "not really impeded" is false. I mean, the DB even admitted what he did after the game. People still bellyaching over the correct call need to get over it.

More and more, what is and is not a catch is a judgement call by the refs. I've seen near identical plays ruled a catch by one crew of refs and not a catch by another crew. It's all a bunch of BS. And I'm over talking about it. Chiefs won, fair and square. Done deal.

They had been letting the DBs for both teams play with more contact the entire game than they did on this one play. Literally the only defensive holding call of the entire game was that play. It decided the outcome of the game. It was chicken-sh*t. If they had called it in that situation after having called it all night, that's one thing. But to allow physical DB play all night and then end the Super Bowl with that call... Lame.

Yeah, that's what I love about it...I was born in '76 so pretty close to their ages, although I was never into the D&D thing. We're on our second watch of it and are on S4E2. I went to the Stranger Things experience with my 12yo son a couple weeks ago down in Atlanta. It was OK. The last room you went into was pretty cool because you put on 3D glasses. And after you're finished you go out into an area that's basically the Starcourt Mall food court, and you can get food and sourvenirs.
