If verified................????? Ouch. Not good.

NVM.......IS verified.

Oats said, "Wrong spot, wrong time."? Idiot comment.

“Wrong place, wrong time” is what you say when you’re caught at a party that has underage drinking going on as a college kid.

“Wrong place, wrong time” is not what you say when you find out your star player’s gun was the MURDER WEAPON in a homicide investigation.

I just lost all respect I had for Oats.

No thanks. With our propensity to give up long conversions on 3rd downs, I want no part of this. I'll take my chances with the onside kick.
I don’t like this. Football, in part, at its core is kicking the ball to the other team after a possession ends or to avoid turnover on downs. Kickoffs are already almost dead.

I umpired quite a bit when I was 14/15. My worst ever experience was a t-ball tournament. I had grown adults calling me every cuss word in the book......one of them happened to be my math teacher in high school. I don't know why adults get so crazy at their kids sporting events.
You called my kid out when he was clearly safe. You deserved my words, hooper.

I hope that's hyperbole and the truth is you already had no respect for him.

Well, obviously it’s because their kids are going Pro. You’re just too dumb to realize how elite they are and how you’re ruining their All-Star, scholarship, and hall of fame chances with your stupid, blind, biased calls you sumbitch.

What in the world were they cursing at you for?

Not just that it was his gun, he willingly brought it to them and told them it was loaded and ready to go. He knew what was about to happen and was complicit. The shooting doesn’t happen if he doesn’t bring it. Also, Oats knew all this and apparently doesn’t care. Completely agree about the lost all respect part. Part of me hoped that when Barnes finally hung it up that we would go after him. Not anymore.

"Miles texted Miller to bring his gun to where they were, according to police.

"When Miller got to the scene, Miles told Davis, “The heat is in the hat.” Det. Branden Culpepper said that meant a gun was present.

"Miles added, “There’s one in the head.” That, Culpepper said, meant a round was in the chamber.

"Miles moved his girlfriend back to get her out of line of fire, Culpepper added."

Darius Miles asked Brandon Miller to bring gun used to kill Jamea Jonae Harris, police testify

It's extremely corrupt that the DA is saying there is nothing they could have charged Miller with. Miles' mother is on the police force. A third Bama player was present. Oates says "we" knew about [Miller]. "Can’t control everything everybody does outside of practice..." The judge hasn't even decided if the murder charge should be sent to a grand jury.

The case needs to be sent to a different venue. The FBI needs to investigate the Tuscaloosa police, the DA office, Bama basketball, Oates, and the Bama AD. There are also questions that need to be answered as to why the Tuscaloosa media never before divulged these details. Of course there is the circumstance that no reasonable person can be confident that the feds are less corrupt than the Tuscaloosa DA and Bama athletic program.

A lot of it was lack of knowledge of the rules. T-ball is often a parents first "sports" experience so a lot of them are clueless. Things like force outs (he didn't tag him) and dropping a ball after tagging someone (when I called the runner safe). The funniest thing is we weren't even keeping score. I spent a lot of years at the baseball complex in Mt. Juliet, TN. Fights between parents, parents/coaches, and threats to umpires was not unheard of. I even had an adult coach tell me to bean a kid when I was pitching because he was hotdogging all game I was 13. Parents can be insane.

Clarification…you are confusing Miles and Miller. Miles was charged, and his mother is a veteran cop.

However, as an attorney in TN, I do believe Brandon Miller could have been charged, and it does make you wonder.

Yes they can be. That’s awful.

Agree with all of this. I've taught my sons to handle it on the field, if it's warranted, take the penalty, do it right, and the other player will knock their shite off.
I have been in altercations on field, as a coach, that has been escalated by a parent, or parents, never turns out good, and it's just a bad look overall for the event. Unfortunately, there are ALOT of johnny redneck dads and mouthy moms, that let their bulldog mouth get the best of their puppy dog ass.

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 There aren't enough emojis for how funny (and accurate) that description is.

They've got it corrected now, but when I clicked the link and read the story, the third from last paragraph said that one of the suspects stated he couldn't remember anything because he'd been drinking "Tit's Tequila"

LMAO at parents going berserk over a T-ball game.

There goes his name as Barnes successor. 😏

Is there any other kind?
