He doesn't grasp that he has earned the additional $ offered in a cash out. It's like putting $100 in a stock and then it goes to $200. It is now worth $200. That's is your money at the time it has that value. Your $100 is now $200. Same with a bet. $100 turns into a $200 cashout, that $100 is then worth $200.
