Johnell Davis will have Santi or Mashack guarding him... instead of FDU's 5'8" Roberts or 5'9" Singleton.

He also won't be as taller or taller than 4 of the 5 guys on the court like he was against FDU. He's listed at 6'4" Santi & Key are the only two guys he'll see that aren't taller and their both listed at 6'3"

Proud to see them big boy duke, but I hope they're still hungry. They haven't accomplished ****.

I'm just hoping we get a decently called game. There's too much being made about our physical play. We've done it all season. Look at the bama game from earlier in the season.

We're so physical and yet only have 25 fouls called in 2 games. By our season average, we should have 33-34.

I said it last week, I think we're actually becoming more disciplined down the stretch. Our fouls were dropping over time. The secret was keeping up the intensity while doing so. We've found the middle ground (outside of Uros straight putting a bulls eye on that fool twice but I think everyone knew that was coming - game plan...executed).

If we were playing FDU I'd be a bit more worried about this narrative that is being presented before Thursday. FDU is a small and athletic team, but they typically have 5 guys that drive to the rim much like A&M. They finished the season top 100 in 2 point makes and 2 point attempts. FAU is closer to Auburn in style of play, fast paced but they like to shoot from deep.

Good point. Style of play makes a world of difference. Duke wanted to play through their 2 7 footers and we knew we had to make them man up. So that's where our focus was.

FAU is a different style. We have to be more focused on positioning, rotating, and help defense than trying to bully them. Gotta be in the right mind space or else we'll get burnt.

Edit: I just check and I'm at 57%. Wish I could reset it now that I know it collects that data. 57% isn't extremely terrible though.

With all the attention we are getting this week about all of a sudden being "rough" and playing like football on defense, (which this is the type of defense we've played every year, every game, since Barnes has been here) all eyes are going to be on us and the refs in this game Thurs... Will the refs be pressured to call the ticky tack fouls on us, or will they call it like it should be? I hope it doesn't make us have to change our game up, which is a recipe for disaster...

Honestly if y’all want my hot take on this matchup @ionaVOL @Enki_Amenra i don’t like it at all and I’d feel better if we had Z…FAU has nothing but elite scoring cutting guards who can create their own points something we struggle with and become stagnant on offense when things aren’t clicking…FAU has the advantage on guard play alone in this one.

Probably no one we would ever think of….. I think DW has a certain set of characteristics that he looks for in a coach…. He will hire someone that fits that mold no matter if it is a big name or a smaller school coach.

Going to need our perimiter defense to play well. FAU is 33rd in the nation in 3 point shooting and have 3 players that shoot the 3 at a better clip than Vescovi. One of them shoots it at 41%.

Unfortunately one of those things that can sometimes not be a controllable. If they can hit tough 3s, not much you can do about it.

They'll make their runs. We have to shoot really well (or at least efficiently) this game.

Hands up high on the perimeter will be all game.

Rick Barnes helped bust my bracket. Good for him. I should probably turn in my VN card but I didn't have us getting past Duke.

I love RB and this gritty hard working team...but hell I can still see that we were limping badly at the finish, and really looking awful handling the ball without Zakai, and then Duke was on a great run and playing spectacularly...there is zero shame in me for thinking it would be a probable loss.

This just proves how great of a coach Rick Barnes really is. I think this year is his best coaching job ever...that game was a coaching and execution masterpiece.
