Same reason we thought SDSU would win over alabama and FAU would beat us and many other games from book boosts.

I don't think the books know for certain who will win or lose, but they know who has the highest chance of losing. . . to a degree that makes it appear they do know.

Nah, man. Udder failure. Third round Rick. We need new blood. I think we should go get Dusty May. He is clearly better.

Love your analysis. Thanks for doing this.

These two statements are revealing.

"I’m not sure about Tim Banks and Willie Martinez but I can’t find anything that tells me they don’t know what they’re doing. Actually, I lean toward the opposite."

"We give up more passing TDs than anyone else in the top echelon of the rankings for stop rate."

May want to rethink that. Yes, talent plays a role. But what we saw on the field in the games that skewed the stats was total disarray and really weird approaches to coverages when considering matchups. It was the same talent that did exceptionally well in other games.

I just think it takes longer to rebuild a defense that will match an uptempo offensive system like ours, which includes the D coaching staff getting on the same page. I'm expecting a big step forward this season.

There's a reason Wille's contract was not extended after this past season by Heup. I trust he knows what he's doing. A little pressure for his guys to perform better as a unit may be just what is needed.
I'd be interested in specific analysis and examples.

As you allude to, football is a game of matchups, so analysis will usually fall to talent and skillsets in those matchups. You say that he schemed well at times with more standard approaches, and then failed ugly with odd approaches. Is it possible that he went "odd" at times to try to hide weaknesses in matchups, and the failing ugly part was a symptom of matchup problems as opposed to it being that an otherwise successful coordinator just forgets how to do his job?

I mean, I think we should at least give him through the end of next week before we decide to kick him off the team and make room for a transfer or not. We need to be fair.

But yeah, looks like HB15 2.0 so far.

I’m just wondering if we’ll ever land a qb that doesn’t throw every ball high. We had terrible Hendon Hooker who threw high nearly every game last season and greatly hampered our offense. Now we’re getting this bullsh*t out of a supposed 5* qb.

You "patience preaching sunshine pumpers" really piss me off. You settle for failure and hate the team you claim to love.

He was a clear miss by the staff. We'll never win with that at QB, and I've begun to consider suspect, any staff that could miss that badly at recruiting.

Was the USCJr. approach of laying off the WR's 5-10 yards most of the game effective?

The question answers itself. It caused Heup to change the philosophy for Banks. We saw how it finished when that got straightened out.

Bama was another game that had similar tendencies on the back end as USCJr. I could semi-understand it with their talent. Not USCJr.
