Getting a 9 seed instead of Purdue was not a tough draw. FAU is a great team and their record shows that. We were clearly the better team on the court though and we found a way to lose. Rick even did his signature move of calling a timeout 5 game minutes too late into a run. Also thought Awaka's lack of minutes in a game where we were getting killed on the boards was a bit of a sore spot.

Research on this says not only does it not help, but it tends to hurt. It is pure fan mythology at this point.

Not sure anything but a natty can surpass that for modern Vol fans. Even a semi-uneventful SEC title game win wouldn't do it. There were too many years of losing to your most hated rival, a perfect season on the line, the late comeback and knuckle baller going through by inches.

It was the perfect scene and will be very tough to beat. But I hope some future Vol team can top it. It would mean something epic is waiting for us

Idk about Northwestern. But I've seen statistical analyses, 3 in total, between college and NBA, and all 3 concluded it is useless at best and harmful at worst. Reminds me of people trying to time stock markets. Most get slaughtered. People aren't as good as they believe at such things apparently.
