How is Clemson ranked ahead of Tennessee in most pre season polls?
Tennessee had a better ranked recruiting class
Tennessee finished higher in the final rankings
Tennessee beat them to close the season
Only thing I can think of is people see more potential losses on Tennessee’s schedule than they do Clemson’s due to their conference being whacky bad. It’ll clear itself up at seasons end. At least the Vols will be ranked in preseason again which used to be common from 89’ through 07’. Need to be consistently ranked to keep gaining traction with high level kids

The only WTF game from Heupel in his 26 games at Tennessee was obviously that USCjr game. Every other game was played with great effort and competitive through a lot of the game. If UT can keep that effort up now with higher rated kids then that margin of error gets bigger. If UT has a “B” game and Kentucky or whoever with mediocre talent has a “A” game Vols will still win comfortably. Something we haven’t been able to say for awhile. Heupel has done a really good job and now the talent is getting better as well

I don’t like Levis as a prospect either but college stats are not the most important thing when evaluating a prospect…. Stats are based more on the team and system the qb plays in.

What people should do right now is capture all the positive things being said about him. Because next year when Joe Milton is in the draft I wonder if the same talking heads will be as kind or if they'll be dismissive of his god given talents.

And we’re witness to what Ellarbee can do with “unpolished and rough around the edges” in two short years (and Wright playing LT in one and his ideal RT the other). Imagine Umarov in 3-5 playing in one spot!

I care that our guys go high. But nothing that has been said for weeks takes me one inch closer to knowing the future. Worse and much longer than two-weeks of Super Bowl stories on Good Morning America imo. (Pardon my grumpiness, I suppose )
