Will be interesting how that plays out at the LOS. Right now scanning the portal there’s a big disparity between the amount of Line talent that enters the portal vs skill positions. If enough schools do it it’ll push more line talent down to lower tier programs but i can definitely see it backfiring on a few schools that might overestimate their ability to get talent from the portal

The ACC school plans on poaching players from schools. The portal is more dirty than before the portal. Rich will get richer

I hate conference expansion, as well. I hated it when they did it in the 90’s and more recently. I hate that we’ve absorbed half of the old SWC.

But, part of me also wonders if we might have ended up like the ACC if we had stayed pat all these years. It’s a tough call.

And there's the issue. It's every conference for themselves and these fools are singular in their desires, without seeing the bigger picture. There's no balance of interests or anyone there to fight for it.

No professionally ran league (they need long-term, national viability) would allow such madness...hey let's just put the Eagles in the with the Chiefs and Rams, etc and call it a superconference! Yeah...that'd be bad for the GAME (but hey, great for the conference right?? ). They'd push to retain national balance so all stakeholders would have a real stake and interest in the game. That's slowly becoming a thing of the past sadly in cfb.

You are a better man than me. I would have gone over her head and told them they could either drop me or refund my tuition or I could contact my State Representative and Senator and complain to them. That is like a class description being all about biology and you show to a calculus class about calculating the DNA of Chaucer.

I was 19-20 at the time. Too stupid to realize that I should go over her head. The professor/chair obviously had tenure. She wasn’t going anywhere.
I talked to the liberal arts dean after getting my final grade. He told me that if I had come at the beginning, he could have helped me.
Since grades were posted, it was too late.

So, not sure about you…where I was, nobody cared about the plight of a straight caucasian male. Just kidding about that, but no one cared unless they could check the boxes.

It did help to shape my personality as an adult though. Just because you are in a place of supposed power, you don’t own me. And I don’t bully well anymore.

If they had attacked China instead of the US, then history would be different.
The US would not have gotten involved until Japan had solidified itself in the Pacific. The nazis would have completely overtaken Europe.
That was the single biggest mistake of the war. Should not have given the US any reason to be involved. Our economy was still devastated from the Great Depression. US morale was at an all time low.
My guess is that they thought the US was so far down that we were going to fold with a little show of force.
Wonder who spearheaded the idea that Pearl Harbor was a great idea to vanquish the US?

There is a lot of evidence that FDR and the U.S. military leaders antagonized Japan and goaded them into attacking prior tk Pearl Harbor. Not saying that we wanted Pearl Harbor to happen but that we were hoping for some sort of Japanese action that would result in U.S. citizens supporting entering the war.

Definitely would not be the first or last time that politicians and military brass have looked for ways to drum up support for a military campaign.
