I was talking more about the direction of the program…. Not your personal like/dislike of the hire. That is a dumb statement...Franklin would have been it for me. I hate that f'n pos scumbag...Tennessee would have been dead to me if they hired that slug.
I'm not the only diehard Vol that feels that way...it would have been a stupid stupid hire.
She is very good - very good.I’ve bragged on my daughter here before and shared some of her art. Couple of other pieces below. She’s just so cool.

Edit: @Geaux_Vols - I meant to mention, she toured the new-ish art school at LSU and really liked it. The space there is nice. She’s a junior, so we have time before a final decision, but I anticipate she’ll apply there.
Detest Franklin, but it would’ve been a homerun hire at the time. I tend to believe Franklin and then Elliott weren’t shell games…they were legit attempts. Maybe Heupel was White’s true preference, but he wasn’t an immediate splash…which we needed. He got there fast and made this discussion academic.I was talking more about the direction of the program…. Not your personal like/dislike of the hire.
Why would he leave for a dysfunctional program like USC? What have they done lately that Tennessee has not? He would be foolish to leave for a program that always looks good from the outside, but is always a dysfunctional dumpster fire on the inside.Does the USC AD opening concern anyone else a bit? I’ve already seen a number of Trojan twitter pages naming DW as one they’ll be interested in. I certainly hope not.
Nope! We have the people in place now and the financial backing that will match any kind of offer made by anyone to keep Danny at Tennessee.Does the USC AD opening concern anyone else a bit? I don’t worry about any coaches that weren’t hired here bc no one truly knows what happened…. The facts that we do know.Detest Franklin, but it would’ve been a homerun hire at the time. He’s proven himself at three different stops…so I don’t think you overvalue him at all. My opinion that the hiring pecking order was Franklin, Elliott and THEN Heupel is based on nothing but opinion. Homerun and/or diversity hire seemed to be a priority amidst the chaos he entered. From the background info you submitted, I’d only add that a truly great program builder never bats 1.000. They simply make WAY more good moves than average or meh. And they don’t double down when it’s not working.I don’t worry about any coaches that weren’t hired here bc no one truly knows what happened…. The facts that we do know.
* DW fights very hard to keep info in house.
* Any info that came out probably came from the other side
* Did DW make inquiries towards both those coaches or did he go hard at them(huge difference)
* I think both coaches would have been successful to varying degrees due to the support system that DW put in place.
* I think DW can see the weaknesses of the coaches that he hires and helps with that area
* One example( I don’t think Heup is a great recruiter but DW is helping to turn it into a borderline strength)
* I think Butch would have been successful here bc DW would have helped support him to where he didn’t make all the missteps that he had during his tenure.
* You can see examples of this at every job DW has held…. I looked it up one time and he has only had one truly bad a hire( female softball coach)
* Another example is felisha Legette-Jack…. He hired her after a 6 win season at Indiana…. She had the best run in Buffalo history and turned it into a job as Syracuse Womens head coach.
I may overvalue what he means to our program but I have seen the difference a great administration does for its programs.
