Lindsey has been the best starting pitcher. Or do you not understand how stats work?

View attachment 557683

A deeper dive would tell you Dollander has thrown 14 2/3 more innings than Lindsey. Let’s take a look:

- Dollander has given up 8 more doubles than Lindsey
- Dollander has given up 5 more HRs
- BAA Dollander .239, BAA Lindsey .225
- Dollander has given up 9 more walks
- Dollander has given up 20 more Earned Runs

Dollander is a stud, but he wasn’t the same this season as he was last when he was SEC pitcher of the year.

In every category, Lindsey was the best bet.
Lindsey is 3-4 in the stat that matters. Beam is our best pitcher.

Most people hold their spoon or fork with their dominant hand. . .

When you're cutting food, like a steak, do you then hold your knife in your dominant hand and the fork in the other hand?

Also, do you eat the skin of a baked potato or not?
Yes, dominant hand for the knife. Yes, eat the potato skin.

You’re drunk if you think W-L record is what determines that. Doesn’t take into account run support. Here’s a hint - much more run support on Sunday than Friday due to opposing pitchers.

Beam is also a baller but he’s pitched 7 more innings than Lindsey, given up 22 more hits, 10 more earned runs, given up 8 more XBH, and opponents are hitting 40 points higher vs him than Lindsey.

No matter how you slice it, Lindsey was an excellent choice. Not to mention it’s the same rotation we’ve been going with for much of the season.

Beam has proven it two seasons in a row. Sad that he may not even get a chance to pitch in Omaha.
I’m not going to argue that Beam deserves a chance. I just can’t blame the coaches having Lindsey out there first. We have 4 guys capable of being “Friday” starters. It’s a good problem to have.

We have a set rotation. Tony went with his set rotation. Not hard to understand.

If Beam had started and lost…. The argument would be…. Why did we mess with what was working? It sucks that we lost but LSU is a great team…. Let’s keep fighting…. One game at a time.

I agree with all of this...but, I also believe a privately-owned company can test for whatever they please, however they please, and the employee/potential empolyee can choose to either take said test, or not.

However, yes, I think it's the height of absurdity to test/not hire/fire because of marijuana, while keeping a bottle in the filing cabinet for office celebrations or knock-off time at the plant.

Not that you guys care, but here is my $0.02:

I am 53 years old. Have had hair below my shoulders since I was 20

In my 30s had a boss make me an appointment for a $250 haircut. Got a different job. I have been stereotyped my whole career as a "hippie" or a "stoner" for my style

Last time I smoked MJ was the day I graduated college: figured that was what kids do, and I was now an adult. Recreational MJ was legalized here in Colorado 12 years ago but nah, that ship has sailed

Have owned businesses for 15 years, so work for myself and have a no drug use policy for my employees. And yes indeed I drug test--just not for hiring

A few weeks ago a young staffer backed a company truck into a parked car on a job site. Sent him straight to the doc-in-a-box for a full drug screen. All about liability
