Lol..I was a really happy-go-lucky laid back dude back in the day, before I got strung out on Meth, and even then I could smoke some good Indica and hang loose...but I've never had the same disposition since.
My nerves really went to crap during withdrawals...it was really bad for a few months, it was hell on earth. What made it really bad was that I quit a 3 pack a day smoking habit at the same time....which made my nerves even worse.
Doing stupid crap to yourself has really bad, life long consequences. My temperament is one of them.
Yet...Same for me. I smoked cigarettes for a while before I started dipping. (I smoked for 2 years and then dipped for 14 years.) I totally quit tobacco 12 years ago, but I think about it almost daily. I can't stand cigarette smoke but the smell of smokeless wintergreen tobacco makes my mouth water.... especially Red Seal and Skoal.
Edit: I ain't done no meth....

One thing I never did was tobacco or chew...was well indoctrinated under the penultimate 90's anti-drug film, The Sandlot...I smoked for 16 years and chewed for 8, been quit altogether for about 10 years now. I have no desire for a cigarette, but I crave a nice chaw of Red Man Golden Blend all the time, especially when I’m fishing or mowing.
That said I did light up 3 cigars after the Bama game and paid for it the rest of the weekend and well worth it...One thing I never did was tobacco or chew...was well indoctrinated under the penultimate 90's anti-drug film, The Sandlot...

I have never tried weed or edibles. Just my personal choice.I guess I'm in the minority regarding MJ use. Maybe it's edibles vs weed, but I don't find it enjoyable at all. I would completely support it for medicinal purposes (I'm an employer) but can't imagine doing it for recreation. I do enjoy a sniff of good whiskey or craft beer and enjoy a mild alcohol buzz, but not THC.
Glavine got even more generous calls than Maddux did.Oh, yeah; and, as you said, Maddux is Top 5-10 pitcher of all time (imo) doing just that, whispering the edges, so close; but, as I said, the two punch-outs weren't in the vicinity of even being close...kind of like the second review at first base. Can't remember who it was, Scott or Moore maybe, but the call-out was overturned, and it wasn't nowhere close. How the guy missed it that bad is beyond me; and, I completely understand things moving very fast, but...
But, yeah, whenever he's cornering at 102, that's a whole other level...one of the reasons I'm not upset too much with his obvious blown calls.
