No it's the same. To root for anyone but the enemy.

Like a mid 90s football fan. You don't run to the freakin Falcons or whoever. It's why so many went for the far-distanced Cowboys.

Braves fans just can't come to grips with their cognitive dissonance. Their own radio guy literally hates UT through and through. And people go elbow to elbow with these folks?!?

Could never be me.

Born in downtown Atlanta and went to first game at 3 years old and been a fan ever since and all Atlanta teams. My dad bought me a Falcon Flag that I still have in our sports room the day I was born in 66 when the Atlanta teams started the same year as my life. I have never left the Falcons or the Braves for the Titans or anyone else and never will. I will pull for who I want and have no care if you understand or not.

Exactly, I lived in Tennessee till I was 13. Loved the Vols, Braves , and Falcons the whole time. Most everyone I grew up with in Tennessee loved those same teams. Tennessee didn't have its own Pro teams then , so most people went to the closest teams to us. Then I moved to Georgia at 13 and have lived here ever since. I grew to love the Braves even more as I lived here. But I never lost my love for Tennessee Vols. It's just not the same thing college vs Pro. People who would suddenly switch from Falcons fans to Titans fans just because they are in Tennessee were never real fans to begin with. I will never change my Braves Fandom just because Tennessee gets a team, But i will root for them any time they don't play the Braves.

Just think:

Heupel took us to #1, 11-2, and a mere glitch of a game away from the playoffs in Y2. We beat 3 of the last 4 national champions...in 1 year.

All of this with a Blue Chip Ratio of somewhere in the ~40% area.

Now imagine if we could merely hit 55% like Penn St or Michigan...or better yet 65-70% like Oklahoma, Texas, Oregon, LSU, UF, ND...we'd be unstoppable.

This class (not team, but 2024 class) is currently sitting at 66%. Keep it going and titles are coming home to Knoxville.
Heard on Josh and Swain yesterday that last year was the only team to ever beat 3 ranked teams by 3 or more scores.

In little league…. It turns into teaching kids to slow down their mechanics/ aim the ball to just throw strikes. I get in arguments with coaches that I help coach with all the time…. They tell me that they would rather lose giving up hits than walks… I tell them that I would rather win….Teach kids to throw as hard as they can(not over throw) and become a pitcher. My son is playing All-Stars…. He is a pitcher/Catcher…. Our number 4 starter told my son he has four pitches…. Fast ball…. Change up…. Curveball… and a fast fastball…. My son asked what a fast fastball is and I told him that it is just a fastball that he actually pitches… it is so hard to change that thought process as the get older.

My son is a HS pitcher and has had some success. He rarely just maxes out. He will throw with good smooth mechanics then reach back for extra from time to time when he needs it. He has come in before and just maxed out every pitch for an inning but mostly pitches probably at 90 percent with command and then pop it from time to time. I think some of the arm issues are those guys who just gas all the time. Is also why I think so many injuries in the forearm and elbow have escalated recently at the college and mlb level.

However, you should NEVER slow down your mechanics. Should always look the same.

Wth does the radio guy have to do with anything? That's the best support for your argument you have? And since when were braves and Vols enemies? All kinds of bad logic in this post.

Keep an eye out for Louisville the next few seasons. We all know Vols were cheated Vs Purdue in the bowl game but that doesn’t mean Brohm isn’t a good football coach. Natural fit at Louisville. I think they’ll be regulars in the top 25 as well as winning 10+ games a season
