What gets me is these kids come in at 17-18 years old from all kinds of backgrounds. They're lost, away from home for the first time, and have all the fears and anxieties that go along with that along with all the happiness and excitement that new horizons and opportunities bring. They've gotten this far by putting their nose to the grindstone and working hard and for many it was the only way they were ever going to be able to get out of their town or neighborhood. So you start there - with every bit of a young person's hopes, dreams and aspirations on the line and they're well aware that this is something they can screw up and lose and then you leverage every bit of that against them to get away with abuse. It's beyond the pale.
And what makes it even worse is that a lot of these guys are there and put in all that work to get there because they wanted to escape an abusive environment and maybe even help family members get out of one if they can succeed. It's just plain evil to tolerate this and to actually order it?!
