It is so weird to me how players change their numbers all the time now

I would never think of changing my number back in the day
I think sometimes they probably didn't get the number they wanted to begin with, so when an upperclassman graduates they opt to try to get the number they want back.

wasn't sure where to post this thought but LSU's recruiting class is kinda crappy for their standards this year. That was the big thing was BK could recruit better there than Notre Dame and they are getting worked by ND

Paying too many baseball and women's basketball players.

The benefit of seniority should be getting to pick your number.

Wrong. The bad gang areas are way south and southwest. A long way from what actual Chicago is. You would have to get on the wrong subway going in the wrong direction for 20-30 minutes to be in these horrible areas.

Chicago is an awesome city. My wife used to live there and we hope to eventually have an apartment/condo there. She lived about half a mile south of Wrigley Field. It’s actually a very liveable city and not near as expensive as you would think. I have probably been there about 25 times. It’s awesome. So much to see and do. Best Food City in America after New Orleans.
Took me a second...

Continually putting out needless pieces on the investigation.

No one else around the country that I can see, feels compelled to give its opinions or going in depth on the investigation.

Just report the facts and move on. OR. OR. Just like rest of the world, find some thing positive being the hometown paper and report on that.View attachment 563319

Meh who cares now. It’s over. They can say we aren’t in the top 19 anymore but we are. We win those games.

From what I can tell, this is changing, in Chicago and around the country. Law enforcement functions less effectively than in the past, the educational system does the same, economic opportunity becomes less available, and the decay in civil society claims ground at an increasing pace.

Good luck with that but many are just not taking those chances anymore along with the carjacking capital of the world - New Orleans. These places do have a lot of culture and reasons to visit but crime has been allowed to run rampant too.

"Many" are just being gaslit with bad advice about something they know very little about in reality.

Very sad story for Mr. Tate, though.

grieve, heal up, and ball out. Find a beautiful Ohio girl, and build a life for yourself young man.
May your sweet mother rest in God's arms

It sounds just wonderful. I would say that The Magnificent Mile is pretty well established as one of the nicest, safest areas of Chicago...except even that isn't really safe anymore.

Magnificent Mile violent crimes are on the rise; association calls on state's attorney to prosecute

I think we should reserve this space -- and the football talk thread (where this was posted earlier #84,340) -- for condolences to Carnell and his family.

It's understandable that people worry about violence, but it's a digression that we don't want to obfuscate our well wishes and concern for Carnell and his family where they should take precedence.

Maybe put talk about violence in the off-topic thread.
