Maybe. But this staff isn't who we all hope they are if they're panicking like some suggest.
Where did @KingNico say they were panicking? I think you're trying to put words in someone else's mouth in order to fit the argument you want. I've only seen him and a few others say it's a concern but nothing close to it being something the staff is panicking about.

I just heard Mike Matthews is a very well spoken young man. . . can anyone confirm?

“Everyone in that building is concerned!” sounds panicky. You have unanimous concern? It’s concerning. So everybody from Heupel down to the omelette maker thinks Ellarbee isn’t pulling his weight…SOMEBODY somewhere is panicking. 🤨

You can take what someone says literally or you can chose to interpret...up to you. Nobody claimed that the staff was panicking.

Never said “panicking,” never said “concerned,” never used an exclamation point. Smartest guys in the room, but it’s a real small room 😏

It’s definitely a concern. I’m not sure why the pushback from others on king nico’s sentiment? We keep missing on top targets and have little depth. The transfer portal has saved us. Elarbee has done really well in many aspects, but I’m sure everyone in the building is really hoping he lands his next big targets.

Sorry if I grouped him with others unfairly.

Bet there are 3 deep contingency plans in that building TOO.

IF you don’t act concerned others panic, especially on the internet.

Late last year my wife lost feeling in her hands, feet, and other areas, and was becoming ataxic. After months of doctor tricks we finally got the diagnosis...severe stenosis of the cervical spine. Called for immediate surgery that could leave her completely blind (told her that on the operating table) and quadriplegic. Surgery had some complications and post op her condition was considerably worse. By day 3 or so I was afraid we were going to lose her, story for another time. It was...hard. After 38 years I don't even know how to live without her by my side...

...but then the tide turned. We got her stable and she was able to go home after a couple more days...

...and then began the hard work of finding the new normal. I became the "woman of the house". Did things I'd never done. Helped her bathe. Dress. Go to the bathroom. Dyed her hair. I did my work. And her work. And took care of her. I was overwhelmed, but in time things got easier and became more routine.

After 4 weeks she finally started improving. Moved from a walker to a cane. Didn't need me quite so close. Approaching 6 weeks now she doesn't really need the cane too much, but balance is still a bit dodgy. She's almost back to where she was the day of surgery. I still help her bathe and I'll be up for the next dye job too. No worries, I'm an expert now.

I say all that to say that from sitting alone in a restaurant staring at a plate of food I couldn't eat and contemplating what life would be like without my partner of 38 years, I found a path to a new normal and God gave us the strength to walk it. And it's ok. Things I never thought I would do have become precious memories that I would hate to have missed. We adapt and grow and the new normal does actually become normal.

I wish she didn't have to face it. She's had way more than her fair share. Third spinal op. Heart valve replacement. Several other ops. It isn't fair, but it's our normal. And again, it's fine. We grow.

And you will be fine too. Peace brother.
I’ll admit I skipped over this pretty much. Work is killing this old gal. I went back and read it word for word. You sound like a great husband and your wife sounds like a strong person. It always helps when you have a strong mate and compliment each other.

Nice. Was doing a population survey in the OBX for a class and we caught one close to that size. I still have a scar from when it got a hold of my thumb
That's awesome! I want to do that lol. They get fished so hard on the Chesapeake I usually only catch small ones. But the biggest I've seen have been around the mouth of the bay.

Not panicking. Concerned is smart because any reasonable person who wants success should operate in reality and reality is we need to recruit some talent at OT. I would be panicked if they were not concerned. Then it would be like Dooley with no OL in a class. You can be concerned and have a plan to fix it without being in a panic. You are just having fun picking at Nico. That’s your Bobby Brown but Nico knows.

Understandable...I wrote a wall of text. I just wanted to offer some encouragement to the young man who's wife had the stroke. The storm does pass.

Not seeing any solutions…just “has to get better!” Hint at them meaning replace Ellarbee? THEN you see PANIC. 😏

Clemson crybabies back at it:

Some of them are still having trouble understanding the NIL era:
I guess Mike Matthews got tired of wearing Paws. Seems to be fond of the color orange though.........and perhaps green$.

I think it's starting to dawn on this guy that they enjoyed our down years and now they have to deal with an active Tennessee Football program again:
Tennessee seems to be getting some recruits that we used to get. It reminds me of the beginning of their surge under fat Fulmer on their road to a national championship. Clearly they are cheating but what are we going to do? Us oldtimers remember Shaun Ellis (NFL Top 15 Draft pick) who was from Anderson who they lured away from us probably in much the same way they are doing now. The rumor is that he was visibly upset on signing day inking for the Vols. I am not saying the sky is falling but we need to do a better job of keeping the Tennessee, UNC, and some degree the Chickens of the world from getting who we want. How we do against those three schools in head-to-head recruiting seems to be a huge factor in determining the talent of our team historically.

Some real nuanced thoughts in this fanbase:
they are the Texas A&am of the SEC East

This guy is putting a lot of stock in the fact that we have never played UTSA before this season. Beating UTSA, a team we've never beat before, sure would be a tall task:
Let's see what they can do this year. Gotta beat teams they never beat before, then I'll believe they are even worthy of worry on the recruiting trail long term.

I'm genuinely flabbergasted that this fanbase thinks they run the cleanest program in the history of college football. I see a lot of their fans talk like this and it's the most disconnected from reality stuff I've ever seen from a contending fanbase:
They getting those players at a cost to their culture. 200 recruiting violations means you have a culture of cheating. Personally I'll be happy with who we get... I'll sleep better at night knowing we're not like Tennessee or Georgia.
Go Tigers!!!

Every recruit that Tennessee gets, it means they have less scholarships to give to recruits. It means we can be patient and find the perfect Clemson fit for our program.

When it comes to Tennessee, Clemson football is like Maximus from Gladiator - we will have our vengeance, in this life AND the next.

Delayed double nut tap ftw
So does open up a spot for Taylor or Staley, or are we done at WR?
Staley committed to tenn also. He’s a vol now.

Got some real detectives over there
Tennessee is crap for 20 years and then all the sudden you can pay players directly and they’re good again. Just wondering…

I am now starting to NOT like Tennessee. Maybe we can have a rematch in a bowl game or the CFP. Revenge time!

Do we know if it is due to NIL or is it the loss to TN or they are just good at recruiting or “all of the above”?
