I'm actually not from here, I have only lived in Harlan since 2015..that story happened back in my really wild days in the late 80s and 90s when I lived in the Dalton area. I haven't been in a brawl since I got straightened out and turned my life around in 98....for about 10 years I was on the express train to the graveyard or penitentiary.
Sounds like a familiar story. My Mom has a friend tell her that I wound be in jail or dead by 25. So I made it to 55 by the grace of the good Lord.Merry Christmas Ulysses.

I actually know a little about this. McGill was arrested and sentenced to hard labor. He managed to escape the chain gang with two other delinquents. After weeks of struggle, where he was almost burned alive in a barn, drugged robbed and turned into the police by 3 women who seduced him and his compadres, escaped again, and infiltrated a KKK gathering to save his black friend from being hanged, he was given a full pardon by the incumbant gubernatorial candidate. Unfortunately, his ex-wife would only remarry him on one condition, and in the process of retrieving her ring he and his friends were recaptured and sentenced to be hanged without trial. Miraculously, a dam upstream broke and flooded the area and saved him. Tragically, he recovered the wrong ring.

All the adventure and misadventure left McGill deciding to clean everything up with this second chance and full pardon. Sadly, since his first wife wouldn't take him back he's been a Man of Constant Sorrow.
😆

I seldom drink sodas..but I really like Fanta Orange with sugar cane. Shame everyone started using corn syrup.

US government pushed companies to switch from cane sugar to corn syrup way back. It was an effort to support all the middle American farmers.

Bad news is that high fructose corn syrup is preferentially deposited into adipose tissue.

So basically if you check the timeline, that correlates when America began to become obese. Now 70% of America is overweight.

So the US government is responsible for two of the biggest health crises in the US. The US government convinced tobacco growers to mass produce premade cigarettes. This was to put packs of cigarettes in C rations for soldiers. And subsequently killed generations of Americans with tobacco related diseases.

If you add up the number of deaths attributed to either tobacco or obesity, the US government has killed more Americans than any other country in the world. 😐

I focused on that point because it was an outright lie. And you continued lying by now saying Hodges got 6 starts over Dobbs when Dobbs was traded before Hodges was ever elevated to the active roster.

Since you have no idea what happened in 2019 let me break it down for you. The Steelers had an open competition for the backup job in 2019 between Dobbs and Rudolph. Hodges was an undrafted rookie and considered nothing more than a camp arm. Rudolph ended up beating out Dobbs for the backup job. However, Dobbs beat out Hodges for the #3 job which is why when the initial cut down to the 53 man roster was made, Hodges was released. The Steelers then resigned Hodges onto the practice squad. After the first game of the 2019 season the Steelers traded Dobbs to the Jacksonville Jaguars where he spent the rest of the season as the #2 QB to Gardner Minshew. Big Ben ended up getting hurt that year after Dobbs was traded which is how Hodges ended up getting playing time.

Under no circumstances did Hodges get playing time over Dobbs. That was another outright lie on your behalf. Dobbs was already traded and on another team before Big Ben and Rudolph got hurt leading to Hodges playing time.

Next time get your facts right before trying to talk smack.

WTF is wrong with you? Honestly, does your capacity for reading comprehension drop to zero when you feel a need to defend Josh?

Go back and read my post again. Don't read INTO it, read what it actually says. There's not one word in your reply that says anything different from what I posited.

The entire point of the whole original post about Dobbs and his "luck" is he needed to actually keep himself in a position to have a "chance" and consistently hasn't. I said not a word about Hodges playing "over" Josh. I pointed out how instead of putting himself in next man up position he was traded in a season where someone who had been a #4 ended up starting 6 games.

In the future try to make a point of not calling out people for having their facts wrong when you can't even grasp what you read in the first place. At the very least if you're unsure put in a caveat with something like;

" Are you suggesting Hodges was actually ahead of Dobbs on the depth chart before he was traded? If so that's not what happened."

See, I'd have agreed with that and clarified for you as I did above instead of having to deal with you making a fool of yourself.
