Poor Texas and Notre Dame. The pollsters do this at least once a year to them and they wind up fizzling out. The media so desperately want them to be good.

So the Texas A&M game is the only head scratcher for me this season in terms of knowing what we are going to be facing... Anyone have a somewhat realistic view of their team talent/potential for this year? On paper they have a lot of talent, but we saw what that did last season... you would think at some point it starts to come together? Just would have them do it after our game LOL...

Well they returned like 20/22 starters from last year. Lost like 6 games by one possession. Added Bobby Petrino as play caller and much more experienced. We’ll see. I have em down at 9-3

Notre Dame just a few points behind us @ #13. . . Clemson @ #9 with essentially the same roster we decimated in the Orange Bowl with the same players on our team this year.

FSU, Clemson, and Texas certainly don't deserve to be as high as they are. LSU shouldn't be a top 5 team imo either.

I was perusing some of the individual voters. Brett McMurphy has FSU at #3, Tennessee at #15 (behind Texas Tech and one spot ahead of Louisville).

Hard to imagine they won't be better, but I have a hard time seeing everything magically coming together for them. We've been waiting for that to happen since forever.

As for our matchup with them

We will be at home, coming off a bye and they will be coming off a game against Bama.

They obviously have a lot of talent hence their impressive recruiting lately.

Their QB is really talented, not sure about RB and their receivers are very good.

Solid on the line of scrimmage.

Just depends on how much of their old offense do they keep? Will Jimbo ruin the offense with his outdated hard headed nonsense?

I believe he and Petrino are splitting time calling plays... could be disastrous.

We beat 4, 5, and 9 last year. I don't think we should be top 5 or anything like that, but we should be top 10 for sure. And for them to put UTjr ahead of us is just straight disrespectful.

They needed Texas to be ranked high so when bama beats them, it looks good on the resume.

We have to prove them wrong by winning at least 9-10 regular season games for them to realize we are in fact back. Then next fall we’ll certainly be preseason Top 10. But either way it doesn’t matter much. Just win.
