Dec. 28, 1957 JACKSONVILLE, Fla. —

UT-3
A&M- 0

In Paul “Bear” Bryant’s last game as Aggie head coach, Tennessee used a fourth quarter field goal by placekicker Sammy Burklow and a stubborn defense to hand the Aggies a 3-0 defeat on a wet and muddy Gator Bowl field. It was the lowest-scoring game in the history of the Gator Bowl and was played before a Gator Bowl-record crowd of 43,709. The field goal was the first of Burklow’s career and came from 17 yards out with 5:30 left to play in the game. It was a day for the defenses to shine as action was confined between the 35-yard lines. The game was marked by the now-famous collision between Vol tailback Bobby Gordon and Aggie Heisman Trophy winner John David Crow on the Vols’ march to the winning score. Both players recovered to continue play, with Gordon holding for Burklow’s game-winning field goal.

Wayward Pines. . .

Also, 'Box of Moonlight" has John Turturro and Sam Rockwell and was filmed in Knoxville in about 1996. There's a lot of places you will recognize, if you're from Knoxville, including "Bambi's". . .

Wow. Haven't thought of that one in a long time. I really liked it but haven't seen it in years. Quirky but really good.

I watched it earlier this year and definitely felt a wave of nostalgia seeing all the old Knoxville scenery. The company he works for houses everyone in that old motel across Kingston Pike from West Town mall. You only see the parking lot but it is a familiar site. Wonder if it’s still there? Also, the cast is fantastic for being mostly unknown at the time. Great movie.

Night crew on fire last night, lol, enjoyed the tar and feathering of the anti-twss crowd!!

On another note, it's been posted a 100 times, but can someone post a link to high res pic of the Hyatt TD with bama db on hands and knees? We are going to have our graphics guy do a wall print for our bar area. TIA!

Oh that’s gonna be awesome.

No, believe that place was torn down. Had that little bar in it where old folks went to hit on each other, 😆

Alright so it’s the second go around. Two years later. Will the Titans make a good decision and draft Darnell Wright? Or will they repeat their 2021 mistake and let a highly competitive conference rival take him instead?….
I can’t believe it’s been almost 2 years honestly. Time flies.

Maybe you should have read what I said more closely. Here are my exact words:

I've always said Dobbs WILL be a great NFL QB. As in future tense. Not that he's great regardless of how he performs. I've always said if he never accomplishes stardom in the NFL I would admit I was wrong. My argument to those who have been saying I was wrong about him is wait until he gets a chance. I believe the sample size is simply not large enough to state with any certainty whether he's good or not. He's simply not gotten much action in the regular season.

Now will I continue to say I wasn't wrong about Dobbs if he never gets a chance? No. I've said that at some point if he's gonna be great then the breaks are finally gonna go his way and he'll prove to everyone whether he's what I thought he was or if he isn't.

I just don't think we've reached the point where his story is finished.

I read and understood exactly what you said in what you quoted from yesterday. It's also either a troll job or you genuinely do suffer from some kind of amnesia disorder. This is only one of many, MANY outlandish claims of unambiguous greatness you've set forth regarding Dobbs in the past.

No troll. I've been very consistent in saying Josh Dobbs will go down as the GREATEST player in NFL history. Just as the NHL changed the rules for Wayne Gretzky when it came to waiting to be inducted into the Hall of Fame, the NFL will do the same for Dobbs when his career is over.

He will leave a legacy in the NFL equivalent to Jordan in the NBA and Gretzky in the NHL.

Now you're trying to uncouple what you actually said of his greatness (present tense) with the predictions (use of the word "will") that are absolutely predicated on asserting the former. It's like claiming

I'm not saying he's the fastest...only that he's going to dominate the sprinting world and have multiple world records.
I'm not saying he's the strongest...only that he's going to own the Worlds Strongest Man competition for the next decade.

I'm not the kind of person that spends much time making absolute predictions as I don't pretend to know things I don't. This being the case I can confidently state it's wildly unlikely Dobb will come close to the kind of predictions you've made for him. Not impossible, just we're an awfully long way into the game to be where we are now.

So how about you make yourself useful and quit D4H'ing this discussion (you're an actual verb on here now) and let's get a useful (or at least interesting) opinion. Given what you know of Josh's situation in Nashville and what we've seen of Willis so far what do you make of the chances for Dobbs to get some legit playing time in one or both of the last two games?
