We played candy in the rain. Any of us not names Florida could put up a shutout there
Well it sure looks like only teams as good as Tennessee, Georgia and Alabama were good enough to shut out Vandy.

Wasn't even raining that hard. Our defense responded that day with their best performance after having their worst.

Yeah I get it. Wasn't really intersted, dad wanted to watch. It was about what I expected. Just think there are more original ways to take spy stories, it went the other way.
You might like le Carre. Little more high brow, might be more your speed.

Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy is a good one.

All this talk about frozen pipes... Nobody drips their water anymore?
Dripped mine all weekend. No issues. Kept the cabinets open at night. First time somebody told me to open the cabinets, I opened the ones above the counter. Did not understand why but did it anyway. Figures it out later and felt like a true idiot lol.

People can scoff all they want at the Tim Banks quote (more or less, "our defense, on average, was good outside of the USCjr game") but here is the cold, hard fact:

Exclude the USCjr game, as he mentioned, and this defense only allowed 19.9 PPG which would be 18th nationally (out of 131 teams)...in the 86th percentile.

OH and that was with the fastest offensive team in the country. We faced more plays, due to mere pace, than anyone but a handful of teams in the whole country. Not too shabby 🤔😏
Whoa.... don't bring that in here. I am still healing emotionally from watching our bad secondary. And THAT sure supercedes any big picture actual results.

but do you have some kind of amnesia disorder? Are you even remotely familiar with your own posting history?

Maybe you should have read what I said more closely. Here are my exact words:

My argument has never been Dobbs is definitely great and anyone who believes otherwise is dumb.

I've always said Dobbs WILL be a great NFL QB. As in future tense. Not that he's great regardless of how he performs. I've always said if he never accomplishes stardom in the NFL I would admit I was wrong. My argument to those who have been saying I was wrong about him is wait until he gets a chance. I believe the sample size is simply not large enough to state with any certainty whether he's good or not. He's simply not gotten much action in the regular season.

Now will I continue to say I wasn't wrong about Dobbs if he never gets a chance? No. I've said that at some point if he's gonna be great then the breaks are finally gonna go his way and he'll prove to everyone whether he's what I thought he was or if he isn't.

I just don't think we've reached the point where his story is finished.

Long story short..In mid July 1998, after several years of drug addiction had destroyed literally everything, I was sitting there on the front steps thinking seriously of blowing my brains out when a miracle happened. It was one of the most surreal experiences I have ever had, and I would be a complete utter fool and liar to deny that God exists after it happened (I've had several experiences like that in my life, but this is the one that pertains to this particular event)

A complete stranger walks up to me while I was sitting there on my front steps smoking a joint and hopelessly thinking of ending myself, and bummed a cigarette, then he oddly looked at me in the eyes for long moment and tells me that he sees a darkness around me and that he felt compelled to tell me his life story, so he asks if it is alright and I just kind of looked at him like he was crazy and said "go ahead I ain't got no where to be"...

So he tells me how as a young man he had been a preacher with a wife and a young daughter, and on the way to a revival meeting a drunk driver had hit them, killing his wife and daughter...after that he said he blamed God and lost his mind and started drinking heavily.

There was a lot more after that part, but the point is that when he got finished he said "Son...call your Momma to come get you, and go home and make it stick"

I just sat there bawling the whole time he was talking and when he said that I said "I think I will"...I then said something to him about my brother getting married in a few weeks in St Pete and I was supposed to be there for the wedding, and he said that was weird because his great niece was getting married in St Pete in a few weeks...turns out his niece was the one marrying my brother..like I said this was one of the most surreal experiences I've ever had.

After that I walked up to the convenience store a mile away and called Mom collect on the pay phone out in the lot...she asked me exactly where I was at and said she had to go get my baby sister from West HS and would be there asap. From the time I called her she made it from Knoxville to Murray County Georgia in just a little over two hours.

I went home, went cold turkey and God turned my life around...I have many flaws, but I am not the person I used to be.

Especially today it rings loud and clear.."For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son"

Merry Christmas everybody.

Awesome story of a miracle redemption. There’s always hope and even when you don’t think there’s anything left. The Lord sends you a reminder.
Thank you so very much for sharing. I’m a firm believer in fate, guardian angel (Clarence), the Lord giving someone a push in the right direction at the right time.
You are a VN “It’s A Wonderful Life “ story.
Just think of all the lives you have touched since your redemption…absolutely amazing when you think about it.

Thank you @Ulysees E. McGill !
A late Merry Christmas and a definite Happy New Year!

Can’t wait to meet you at @BaldBiker’s Spring Break festivities 😇

I missed a few days on here and had missed that story, I am so glad you quoted it. @Ulysees E. McGill thank you for sharing, that's incredible. Glad it all worked out.

Had to rank my selections 1-11 by end of year. Drawing is not until March. In the meantime, scored this today:

…and received an email that I have a Blanton’s waiting for me. I think Blanton’s is highly overrated but will likely pick it up regardless.
Such an excellent pour. The recent batches (100-133) where the proofs have been between 114-116 are particularly good imo. Enjoy that one!
