Remember how our defense single-handedly cost us the SCar game this season?

I remember.

We need to fix the defense, and there are players in the portal who can do that. I'm not saying throw insane money around, but let's improve where we need to improve.
How many Portal DBs do we have?

The problem rests squarely on Pruitt (the CB savant) not recruiting any. That doesn't get fixed overnight. We had issues at every one of the defensive positions and they are getting fixed, but one areas deficiency can and does effect the others. It just happened CB was and is the most deficient. We also have a VERY nice class coming in.

The only issue with your second sentence is that different people have different interpretations and observations. Everyone characterizes things differently. We do have penalties for people who readily admit that they lied to law enforcement or under oath.
But aren't stringently enforced. I have personal knowledge to that fact.

Can barely see to type this so forgive any errors.
Lost my dad 3 years ago (dementia) he quit speaking his last year with us.
Just before he past I was holding his hand an I went to let go and he grabbed my hand and held it so tight. I laid on the hospital bed beside him and cried like a baby.
I miss him so much. Holidays bring back so many memories.

I read through this several times trying to figure out if somehow I had posted using an alternate account.
My Mom passed in ‘19 after battling Alzheimer’s. Shortly thereafter my Dad, who was dealing with Parkinson’s, became pretty much non communicative up until his passing in the summer of ‘20.
I would wheel him around in his wheelchair right before the end and he was just a hollow shell - he had no discernible voice, and was often asleep, or just vacant.

But the last time I visited with him before he became bedbound at the end, I was wheeling him down the nursing home hallway and I leaned over and said,”I love you.”
And he grabbed my hand with a surprising grip, and looked at me with the most awareness I had seen in his eyes in a LONG time and said quite clearly “I love you too.”

the sudden acute awareness, responsiveness, alertness really caught me off guard. It was such a blessing though. It was the last thing I ever heard him say.

Are we ignoring the DBs brought in thru the portal last year Not sure how those are on Pruitt? But, there are talented DBs in the portal that could help this defense. I'm not sure why we can't just admit that? It's not an attack on Heupel, he's not the DC or the DB coach. I'm not sure how anyone can look at our defense in certain games this season and deny we need to improve, that we need better players on that side of the ball. The portal allows that opportunity. We may not be able to completely fix our defense, but we could make some serious strides.

Just a reminder of how many misses old Gump had while here on the defensive side.

2018: JJ Peterson, Jordan Allen, Kingston Harris, Brandon Davis, Kenneth George Jr.
2019: Henry T, Quavaris Crouch, Tyus Fields, Savion Williams, Kenney Solomon, Deangelo Gibbs
2020: Key Lawrence, Len'Neth Whitehead, Morven Joseph, Martavius French, RJ Perry

Bold = DBs

That's almost as bad as Dooley and his lack of OL recruiting. That's basically 3 classes where none of the secondary talent recruited has contributed or is still on the roster. LB has been the same...so no surprise those 2 areas have been as bad as they have, RG has been able to coach up the guys he got left and recruit some great talent on the DL.

Not a good idea to read about Mike Leach and parents passing while at work😭 this is so heartbreaking

Prayers for peace and comfort to all of you during this holiday season ❤️
I don’t come here for sad stories. I wish we had a separate thread for them

I'm saying, wait until ESD.

Ehh, that is anecdotal. Each jurisdiction is different. Just depends on the amount of work that is involved and the circumstances of the case.
It's a hard case to prove I get, and you're correct it is jurisdictional. However, when you look at the highest populated jurisdictions, it is easy to see that that is not occurring (especially looking at slander and liable cases).

One last note on this, then I will drop this, but I do believe that Sullivan v NY Times needs to be looked at again. What the press is allowed to get away with in it's reporting is borderline criminal...

Forgot about French. Did Bryson Eason get any PT this year?

Slander/Lible are different than charging someone with perjury or filing a false report. I have actually handled several of the latter over the years. Slander/lible are civil and have its own set of elements, and public figures are even different, too. I was just generally discussing criminal cases in which "victims" may seem to be lying or even admit that they did.
