Seriously thinking about this... My initial reaction is Goodfellas, cause... Goodfellas. So I wouldn't argue with anyone.

But the departed really is a fantastic movie and I think I'd give it the nod.

Matches cast, story, characters... Jack is great. Decaprio is great. Damon.. Great.

And The Departed is great...GREAT...but Mafioso > Mob every time. They are more interesting in their structure, guidelines, and vast history into Sicily. Jmo. Goodfellas is still a better movie regardless though. Both have excellent structure and climaxes though...shoot I might even give The Departed the better climax. And you're welcome Glitch.

They're both great, but Goodfellas. The beginning of Goodfellas, and the first hour of Goodfellas, are immaculate. As good as it gets. Some people dislike the movie because the last half can be anxiety-inducing lol. They really want you to feel like you're on the bad end of a coke binge.

The Scorsese movie I've been trying to process again is The Irishman. I feel like it's important and very good, and a natural bookend to Goodfellas and Casino. It's just hard for me to get over the CGI.

I’ve never seen it. It might need to go on my off season, winter list to watch. Don’t post random gifs of how I’m a dumba$$. Leave that to @InVOLuntary and @Glitch. They love to point out when anyone of us stumble. You know, old men pleasures .

Oh man you've got to put aside 2 hours to take in that movie. Pop some popcorn, dim the lights, turn the volume up. I'm jealous you'll get to watch it for the first time.
