If we were #1 he would still be bitching and saying it needs to be better.

The bottom line is...the defense improved...a lot..despite the stupid yardage numbers.
I still don't think people grasp that yards per play and scoring defense is more important than yards per game due to our offense. They look at those total yardage numbers and freak out.

Vols allowed 480 yards in 101 plays to Clemson. 4.7ypp.

We've been allowing 80+ plays and 400+ yards all season. On average, that's not bad on a per play basis and pretty middle-of-the-road nationally. Georgia, one of the best defenses in the country, probably allows between 45-65 plays per game typically. So by default they're going to allow fewer total yards. Cut the # of plays in half at we allow 240 yards.

I got hit pretty hard this season when I defended the defense saying it was statistically one of the best defenses we've had in a while - when it comes to the things that matter.

We forced turnovers. We limited scoring. Especially on a per play basis.

I don't think canceling is the right term for people who do objectively bad and illegal things and aren't allowed to coach again because of it. Canceling would be not allowing someone to coach because they supported a politician you don't like.

WOW, I sure hope AP is wrong... If we don't get help, and suck again in the secondary next season like we did this year, I may be questioning Heup for the first time since he's been here... surely that isn't correct...

I agree, surely it isn't correct that this is the first time you've questioned him.

AP liked this post about Jaylen Wright.
I suspected that and considered Baron. It was the same context. I didn't want to guess. I hope "thanks" is supposed to be earnest (and not sarcastic.) I hope Wright is back. He has put in a lot of work and it shows. His best football is ahead of him.

Where is ole @Sleegro been? If I remember correctly, he threw that out often in our dark days. Don’t tell me he’s not ready to jump back on the Vol’s bandwagon yet. Seriously, I live in East Tennessee and I’ve seen more Georgia stuff put on cars this year than I saw last year. 20 years, you’d never seen it here this close to Knoxville. It does make you want to carry a knife on you to make sure someone has to change a tire. I hope we are the team that have bandwagons just we can kick them off in the not so distant future.

He posted a few times during the season. Last I saw him I think.
