Honest assessment of our offensive and defensive lines going into Spring ball?
I think we'll be fine. We were terrible under basically every coach between fulmer and heupel. Then, miraculously, we were good again. I don't think that was because we suddenly had good O-Linemen, but, instead, we have good coaches and schemes.

Are Carvin and Crawford guys that can use a Covid year? If so I think we'll be fine. If not, we do have question marks. Mincey at LT, Mays at Center, Spraggins at RG. Who will be the RT and LG? Carvin would answer one question. Lampley/Nichols could perhaps slide into the LG or provide depth at both guards and center. Will Karic start at RT or perhaps Larry Johnson. Will the Miami Tackle come in? If we land the Miami transfer, I will feel good.

As for the DL. Leo I feel very good with Harrison/Joseph/Pearce. I feel great at DE with Baron/Bumphis/Bailey/West. I feel solid at DT with Thomas, Simmons, Terry, Garland, Eason, and McNeil but we need depth here. Outside of Thomas, not sure we have a true game breaker at Tackle. Could one of our DE's slide inside?

I left off freshman recruits because it is a coin flip if they can advance to SEC level in short order and it is never wise to count on true freshmen to win games.
Carvin’s out of eligibility. This was his fifth year of playing on the field.

We are going to need some of our recruiting class to help at linebacker this year. At worst, two of them will need to provide quality minutes.
We'll have to see how Herring and Perry progress over this winter and spring. Pak Garland is also still here and should be healthy now. He was in front of Kalib Perry before the injury. Beasley and the BYU transfer will be the starters. The coaches like to play 4 LBs if possible, but 3 will get the lion's share of snaps. It will be very impressive if two of the freshmen make that 4 man rotation, or very telling about the rest of the room.

Ok, Mincey and Crawford should both start. Whether one moves to RT or LG.
Unless we land Campbell. Then he takes RT. Don’t know if the non-starter at LT will be better than Karic or Addison Nichols at LG. Needed both to get through a full season on the weak side.

Dobbs and the Titans defense did enough to win the game last night. OL cost them the game and division.
Last night was the first time I've watched Titans play all year, and man that oline is bad. Defense isn't all that good either. I did hear them say 3 of their starting Oline are on IR tho. Backups were not good at all.

You want to argue with people who were really hoping one of their very favorite players and who also happens to be a great dude and true VFL, that he doesn't have it, after extremely limited data in an extremely difficult situation. Most of us know that he has been a career backup and that is likely where he stays. Also, almost all of us were hoping he would have a great game for himself, the fans and everyone in this area who were cheering for him. But, of course, you have to make it all about your "realistic" analysis and run him down. And, you wonder why people give you so much grief on here? Goodness.
Really really wish I could like this more than once, exactly what I was thinking!!

Checkerboard analysis is not realistic and if anyone is ruled by emotion, it is him, so I call BS. Josh Dobbs didn't win the game, but he came into a team with little time to practice and gave them a chance to win, which was much better then what they had for a whle. It was not a blow out. He made some great plays. I don't think anything that happened last night should hurt his playing chances in the NFL.

absolutely

At first seeing us at 18, I guess I thought it was reasonable. But Texas Tech, Oregon State, and Notre Dame are all ahead of us. Don’t even care what they have coming back. I don’t think they are better than us.

Definitely has a’98 feel to the ranking. Had a great team. Expected to take a step back the following year. But it will be all

15-0 🤠

Cooper is doing pretty well in it and he’s prob under 300
Smaller centers can have success in multiple schemes, but Cooper has become a beast. The best example is Marcus Tatum who transferred from here to UCF. He was an undersized OT that thrived in the offense under Heupel and Elarbee. He was never going to be a starter in a pro-style offense.
