Let's get something cleared up. We had 18 Level 1 violations. UNC had 5. LSU had 1.
Stop making these comparisons like each case is the same.
We got off very easy because we cooperated.
You can argue that if we didn't cooperate that we possibly could have had less Level 1 violations but that would have been a gamble. Maybe they find less, maybe they don't. If they found 18 without our cooperation it would have been a multi year bowl ban. Death Penalty type punishment.
We all should be dancing a damn jig right now.
Now it's time to put it behind us, STFU about it and go win some football games!
always be closin', lettuce!Negative recruiting must have been egregious if Huep mentions it first thing post ruling. And there was really nothing the staff could have rebutted with until it was officially over. Definitely had to have been a big part of "the staff cant close". But now.... LETTUCE GO
This is the biggest issue before us. There is no possible entity that would administer caps equitably. It's just a scam for Kirby and Saban to destroy the level playing field that is NIL and resume their "cheating with impunity" regime.that is also why Kirby and Saban want to implement a salary cap. so they can put those stealth recruiting machines back to work under the table. the machines are useless to them if NIL remains the way it is.
Clemson fans said we had to forfeit the win against them in the bowl game, is this true?
man these Clemson fans sure as salty about us in general. They feeling some pressure from Rocky Top? Not as easy when the better program on the other side of the mountains is asleep.A. Vacating a win isn’t the same as forfeiting. Game goes as a loss for both teams.
B. I can’t imagine we’ve been playing ineligible players for two years in the midst of a self-investigation and NCAA negotiation process.
C. If it helps them sleep at night, they can pretend we didn’t embarrass them on national television. Maybe they can dream up a way out of that baseball loss too.
Tennessee's lineup of infractions DWARFED what got Clemson a three year post season ban (with an additional bogus year tacked on by the ACC, which is why I hate this conference). I mean, there is no comparison between the two. And yet, Tennessee skips away with no postseason ban, AT ALL.
UT signed 65 recruits w/ HS & Transfers for 2022 & 2023. How does this jive with their supposed self-imposed scholarship reductions?
They do it the SEC way, with smoke, mirrors, and culling.
Over 18 level one infractions but yet Tennessee gets a slap on the wrist. They’ve derailed entire programs for less.
If that was Clemson they would’ve buried the program
$8 million is a drop in the bucket for UT, cutting 2 scholarships does little with NIL monies available.
Your Volunteer program is currently dirty. Don't even try to insinuate that Clemson is currently dirty. Yes, in the past there have been players that received fringe benefits while playing Clemson football and we were placed on probation. After our national championship in 1981, we were hit with a 2 year postseason ban and lost 20 scholarships for far fewer infractions than your program has. In the early 90's we received another year of probation for a handful of $50 payments to a couple of players. If we are talking about precedents, Tennessee should be in the basement. Your program is lucky that the NCAA is now as toothless as the guys that worked for it the last time Clemson had dirt to air. As Dabo would say, my kid's grandkids won't be around long enough to see this program dirty.
Jeremy Pruitt is in the top 5 worst coaches of all time list.
How is 200 individual infractions not a lack of institutional control?
SMU had 29 recruiting violations when they got their death penalty - but 200, that's completely acceptable.
SMU was handed the death penalty for less. Clemson was punished more harshly in the 90’s for less.
Poor little SMU got the death penalty and Tennessee got to wash the dirty Ole coon hound!
Pruitt’s buyout = $12.6 million
Tenn investigation costs + NCAA fine = $9.6 million
They saved $3 million and get to fire Pruitt “with cause”…
8 mil is a joke. They should have gotten post season ban at the very least. Pitiful. Then again, that's today's college sports. Sad.
....this helps for recruiting (us), no? Please please please at least Matthews. Scholarship limits at the very least should really throw a wrench in things.
Does MM want to play for a team hobbled by lower scholarship players? Even if their massive NIL fat cats throw another $8 mil at him like the QB, it still would seem to help Dabo and staff in the persuasion game.
MM has an interview addressing he doesn’t want NIL to effect his recruitment because he knows no matter where he goes if he balls he will get paid..

Oh yeah, CLEMSON runs the CLEANEST program in the nation. Grow up Peter Pan. Count Chocula.
SALTY SALTY SALTY!!
There may not be a more naive fan base in all of college football.
