Josh Gibson would like to have a say in this. Ruth was playing a bunch of guys that wouldn't be anything more than a high school pitcher back then. I know, I know it's controversial BUT it's also true.

It ain't. There were some bad pitchers but not like high school. I love Josh Gibson and it's a travesty he was not allowed to play. He would have been a fantastic MLB for sure. However, there were a lot of good white pitchers he didn't have to face . Really wish they were didn't have to have the discussion. His record should speak for itself but sadly we will never know.

100% true.

But even apples to apples....it's amazing.

I wish they had Josh Gibson's "official" records from "barnstorming" and "Negro Leagues"
It would be much more than 714................Just from stories I was told when I was a kid.....Legend/Lore...from some elderly people that saw Gibson play in his prime.....he was the best ever!

I already stated my case. He may well have been. No way we can know for sure

I can't post either the Jalin gif or the one where To'o To'o gets shoved around in the endzone. Or the taser gif that Weezer helped me with.

It happened right after @Freak thought files that were too large were causing problems and he reduced the maximum. I remember that.

Ok...but until they do something, it is just a blind assumption to EXPECT good to great play from them this year...excuse me if I don't assume it until I actually see it with my own eyes.

I EXPECT Spraggins and Cooper (if he can even stay on the field) to hold up against ANYBODY...I have no expectations/assumptions for anything more than just solid play from the rest of the OL until I see them stonewalling good SEC defenses.

Crawford and Mincey split time at LT all year and I don’t recall many complaints about them, so that’s 4 proven returners. Campbell started at LT for Miami right? I don’t expect much drop off from the OL play.

Center is the biggest issue. We'll see how it goes. Hope the young guys step up and Cooper is icing on the cake when he gets back. Being the "play" caller for the OL and responsible for keeping us at pace is a lot. To say nothing of facing SEC fronts.

Josh Gibson was an all time great.

But if Babe Ruth was facing the equivalent of “high school pitchers” (he wasn’t), then so was Josh Gibson (he wasn’t).
