McNeil hasn't lived up to expectations because he's slow for his position, he doesn't diagnose the play well or fast enough, and he takes really poor angles to the ball when he's called to action. Two of those things can be helped with experience and confidence in the system, but one of those things is a real problem, especially with all the young (fast) talent piled up behind him.
