TKjr looks better than both veteran safeties right now. Just a different level of athlete. He looks like a good player should in drills. He's smooth and doesn't look to try hard to do the simple things. Gaulden also looks the part at CB. Now you guys are seeing why I was adamant about putting him at CB. He'll be a problem at that position.

Admittedly, I was focusing more on Gaulden's tackling prowess and clear willingness to be physical. I did not realize how long he was.

Ok, so I've got half an hour to kill, so naturally, I'm going to break down Worley's production last year, and give a projection for this season.

He played 114 halves last year. To count Florida (2nd half) and Bama (1st half) as full games would be unfair, so I'm going to average this out to 7 games last year, even though he played in 8.

2013 AVG per game

YDS 177
ATT 28
YPA 6.32
COM 15.57
COM% 55.6%
TD Per game 1.42
INT Per game 1.14

Now, there have been almost unbelievable reports of his improvement over the off-season. It's August 3rd, so let's all be happy and just say it is true. The WR's have upgraded in a huge way, so I'm going to give my projections for the season, on a per game average.

2014 Projection per game

YDS 243 (14% improvement)
ATT 32 (4 more passes per game)
YPA 7.6 (1.28 more yards per attempt)
COM 20.8 (5.23 more completions per game)
COM% 65% (9.4% improved accuracy)
TD Per game 2.7 (1.28 per game improvement)
INT Per game 1.0 (.14 decline)

Thoughts, over and under on these projections?

If that happens we likely win 9+ games.

No way that Sawyers will redshirt. He will give us some huge minutes all fall. The young man is physically impressive for a true FR. Not sure if Robertson will redshirt or not. He could help us, too. So many of these FR look to have really followed a workout schedule given to them from the coaches to be prepared when they get here. I haven't seen one yet, who didn't look to be in great shape for the position that he will play.

You may be right they do look physically imposing.

So let me get this straight my good man. They wrote it up when camp started and now you want to pay attention to his build. I wrote that about him in his thread about a year ago. :)

Always liked Gaulden at CB myself. Between him, Berry, Moseley, and Payne we are gonna find at least two good corners.

I'm interested to see where Elliot Berry ends up.

Haha i hear ya man. :hi::hi: Just seeing him on video recently I noticed the long arms and he's a little more built now.

You do want your safeties built longer than your CBs though. Well at least I do. I like rangy safeties(long arms, well built kids) like McDowell. Gaulden had CB written on him day one. That's why I never changed my view on him. :) he's a big CB but a very average sized safety.

This puts it best. Seeing him in the practice video the other day, he looks like a corner with elite size, and, compared to McD and TKjr at safety, he's behind.

Maybe I haven't been used to seeing what the defense should look like.. haha

Hey BB... What are your thoughts on how some of these freshmen, especially the defensive lineman, look as they start fall camp? Not just BB, but anyone else who wants to comment. I just do not remember ever seeing pictures of kids coming in looking this impressive physically.

Butch Jones told them if they are physically ready they'll play early when he was recruiting them. They've put in the work to see if he was lying. :)

I will chime in. I see something with this young line that reminds me of the D line class Florida pulled at few years back. Floyd, easily, and all the DE's they pulled as well. I am so excited to have athletic guys who can shoot gaps. I think with all of the sec offensive philosophy changes that we have seen ala' the spread, option spread, we are well suited to defend such offenses. Especially with our speed, athletic lines and new found (hopefully) depth.

A good DL equals wins in this league.
