Dobbs will have some real bad plays, it's just going to happen with him still being inexperienced. Hopefully it wont make us lose a game. But rather now than next season.

I was worried about Dobbs turning the ball over before the Alabama game, and sure enough he had two. On the other hand, it's not like Worley was super protective of the ball either, and many of his turnovers came at the worst times.

Dobbs can create plays with his legs. The best we could hope from Worley's legs was mitigating a broken down pass play. You can tell how much stronger Dobbs is this year, and he certainly hasn't gotten any slower or less agile.

Maybe bland wasn't the best word.

Regardless, I get a kick out of reading the quotes and thinking-

If Dobbs can do as good as he did against Bama we have a bright future for the remainder of our season. I already feel like the team stepped up for him too in that game. D regrouped, receivers made him look really good on a couple plays, and even Lane blew a run out. All in all we need that level of play to beat all but Vandy.

The team seemed to really rally around him, which is a great thing to see. It could be the guys just trying to help the newbie, or it could be an inherent leadership characteristic of Dobbs. Hopefully it continues.

Butch bot 4000..I laughed.

But that's the thing, there's nothing "bland" about it Lol.

Reporter: Butch how do you think Jalen Hurd ran the ball Saturday?

Butch: Jalen Hurd prides himself on being the golden standard of what is an exceptionally storied position at the University of Tennessee. As long as he continues to empty the bucket during practice & stay within the process, Jalen's limitations are nonexistent.

Yeah, Butch said if Worley is ready to Play, he will play.. (Now most people are saying he is out for the season, so the man didn't lie--Worley's just not going to be ready to play for the VOLS..ever.)

This may be random but i was actually happy Dobbs under threw a deep ball to North to give him a chance to go get it and it was a pass interference. That was frustrating with Worley because he overthrows it every time. If deep ball isn't on target I want it under thrown for chance at jump ball or PI

The "ready to play" part is at the coach's discretion.

I think Dobbs starts rest of the season but they continue to test Worley in case on emergency situation

Butch: I take great pride in the way I paraphrase sayings on behalf of the great state of Tennessee. It's a pride of who we are and none of us in the greatest facility in all of college football will stop until each and every phrase that's highlighted each week has been meticulously placed within the press conference for all to hear and be affected by. Our staff works harder than any staff in the country to come up with groupings of words and sentences using many leather bound books and notes written by our peers as well as the great Tennesseans that came before us. You have to give credit to the Volunteer faithful, who are not only important to what we say, but are absolutely critical to the success we are gearing up to accomplish on a daily basis using consistency and hard work. We strive for consistency in everything we do. From wind sprints to interviews with the media. I think that is evident from our past interviews with the media compared to the one we are all participating in today. Next question.

LOL.

"As a coach, I'm still learning what it takes to have winning media avails. When you're at a place that's as special as the University of Tennessee, you're speaking on behalf of a group of individuals who represent a snap and clear mentality.

It's everything from the way I nod my head when listening to a question to the way I summarize my talking points. There are no shortcuts in this league. The standard and the expectation of being the head coach at Tennessee is to win a lot of press conferences, and I'm going to do that."

Against many SEC defenses that is usually a very bad idea. See Worley and Ole Miss. Not a habit i hope we develop.

I so bad want a ButchBot video and avi now. One of those text to speech cartoon deals would be hilarious. Just copy and paste Butch's press conference in as the dialogue.

It's funny because last year people were literally begging for Worley to overthrow a deep ball. This year, they want him to lay off again.

No wonder Worley gets so confused sometimes!
