Basketball program might be on the verge of imploding.

Tyndall is under investigation and his prize recruit of the 2015 class, Chris Clarke, who committed to UT about a week ago just flipped to Virginia Tech.

Southern Miss has actually fielded some decent teams in the past few years. Could totally happen.

This year they have won three. Last year they won one. The year before that under Ellis Johnson was winless. Fedora's last year at Southern Miss was great but that quickly went away. I have been to a few games this year, they dont have the horses to keep up with an SEC team.

That didn't take long. Not a good sign.

Kool aid no sugar man. UT can't get anything on a steady track. FB team gets decent basketball goes to hell.

If we were going to hire a guy that cheats we should have hired our cheater Bruce Pearl. Heck, the way Bruce talks I bet we could call him up today and offer him the job and he would leave Auburn by mid night.

This may work out...Tyndall gets hit by the NCAA, we suffer through this year and go get Pearl....a guy can dream

So what happenens there? I imagine you can't fire him, so we are just going to accept that we have botched the hire and move on with whatever the NCAA throws at us?

If it is bad enough UT track record is we can him and try yet again. Calls for BP to come back will be deafening though. FTR I was not sad to see Cuonzo go but this sure feels like Karma.

Didn't Kiffin basically escape unharmed for the violations he committed here while Tennessee was punished?

Why are we assuming something will happen to us? Is this a Tennessee fan complex? Almost always the previous school gets punished for any transgressions, not the school the coach leaves for.

If the NCAA hammers Tyndall and severely limits him personally in recruiting or suspends him games I say cut bait. Keeping him around with recruiting limitations is going to delay the inevitable...

There were questions about him at Moorehead...now Southern Miss...so why do we think he is gonna be on the up and up at a higher level with increased competition.

Yeah. It'll be interesting to see how this pans out.

Bruce is back in the SEC. This benefits him greatly. Don't think for a minute that Pearl, Donovan, Cal, or even whoever is coaching at OM or Vandy wouldn't bring this on us because they would. The timing of this just now emerging is suspect as hell - someone dug it up.

I admit I don't really know the facts...just going off speculation. Personally I don't think the school (UT) will be punished. HOwever, if they punish Tyndall we are punished via the trickle down. Why subject ourselves to that if things go that way?

If they cut Tyndall, what's the next option? This is getting a bit ridiculous. Call Pearl? Go for broke and hire Howland? Kermit Davis?

I legitimately believe Pearl WANTED to come back to UT. I still think he wants to be here. He speaks way too fondly of UT even at the risk of alienating the Auburn fan base.

way early for all this talk...but I've bee sitting at a Ford dealership for 6 hours so this is the most fun I've had all day.....

so if we HAD to fire him then I say let the season play out with an interim and then bring the dump truck to Bruce.

I'm all for cutting Tyndall if this all holds up to be true. I just don't know if that's financially viable
