Been thinking that myself... Does this tweet align with your info?

MY guy has been closed lipped. Can't get hardly a word out of him. I've hounded him all I can. He's a customer so I'm going up on his prices :). The only thing I can say is he's been consistent that Haslam has been a big problem. I point blanked asked if Gruden was a possibility. His answer: "If Big Jim will get out of the way".

Read this. This guy summed up all the Gruden threads/mit beaver stuff...

Thanks Ron! I posted his twitter handle a while ago for people to read but at the time I couldn't attach a screen shot.

Pretty good read!

Seriously?

There is literally millions of dollars at stake if they don't allow Charlie to do his thing. I have been a dish subscriber since the early 2000's. I f this goes through I suggest any and all sign up!

Let's say Haslam doesn't step out of the way. Then what? We're Colorado?

We've been told repeatedly that Butch has the support of most of the team, they're playing hard for him, he's their best chance to make a bowl, etc. Confusing or crazy, take your pick...

How in the world are they hanging on to the 2018 commitments???

Because they are being told the next coach is a huge name they will want to play for.

Wouldn’t allowing Fulmer to be the interim solve the problem of none of the current assistants not wanting the risk? Assuming Phil wants to do it but he doesn’t have to worry about his next gig. His only risk would be losing to Vandy.

Your guess is as good as mine. I think he'll yield in the end as he's a smart man and he would want to be considered part of it rather than adversary. If all this is true and I'm not saying I believe it 100%, if the deal falls through, it may very well set us back for years to come. The reason is the loss of that revenue not only for that VC firm but from other boosters that may pull back some. This is all conjecture on my part. Just trying to view it from afar. I find it fascinating.

Also, I am convinced Gruden was closer than many want to believe the last time. I heard it from multiple people that several boosters had pulled together a bunch of money to assist in making the Gruden hire happen. When the deal fell through, they let the AD keep those funds. Something tells me that won't happen this time.

Why would Haslam not want to win? Why would he not want Gruden? Doesn’t make any sense.

My opinion is that it isn't Haslam DOESN'T UT to win. I think the theory is (I didn't come up with it haha) Haslam wants a person in place that he can manage MORE than he wants a natty. It's been said he is more interested in making UT an elite academic program than an elite athletic program.

It's a safe assumption that if a coach of JG status comes here he wants more control than the average former University of Cincinnati coach wants. And according to many Haslam doesn't want to give anyone that level of control.

I'm not bashing him I am just saying this is what I have picked out of the narratives out there.

I like CPF but I don't think he has a connection or relationship with very many, if any of the players. I think it is more of a chemistry thing.

I'm currently a direct tv man. If this deal goes down with Gruden, Charlie will be getting my business. Was already thinking about making the switch anyway.

I don't think it's a question of not wanting to win. I think it's more about him wanting to stay in control/have the most sway. It just so happens that him staying in control/having the most sway has resulted in not winning.

The AD will get more of my money than ever before if they make it happen.

Which isn’t much but still...

Agreed.

I don’t think there’s much “chemistry” going on within the program right now anyways. Fulmer is a legend and would command the players respect at least for the last few games.

This.
Process was started the day Butch was hired.

Now Haslam is hung out to dry.
