I'm in the no way Gruden is coming here camp, but it would be nice to announce a hire like that and watch UF struggle to land a coach who's willing to face our coach every year after haha

Hutch is pretty confident. Someone just started a thread and said “what do we do now?”. And Hutch replied “drink Coronas and eat Hooters wings”.

I think Gus Malzon and Chip Kelly are the same guys. One found out he had to change and his style couldn't work anymore in the SEC. I am hoping Chip is too arrogant to do so.

I think there are two big differences in the two:

Malzahn is a Southern guy through and through and could probably be a cultural fit anywhere east and/or south of Oklahoma just fine.

They both have histories of running hurry up offenses that feature a lot of RPOs, but their schematic roots are actually a little different. Malzahn made his career as a college coach taking wing T and triple option plays and running them out of spread looks.

Kelly, on the other hand, was one of the guys at the forefront of just trying to spread things out as much as possible and trying to win the numbers game based on the look they got.

Well, if Wallace is right, sounding like Scotty is about to.

Remember when HG was on here in the off-season scoffing at Mac’s job being in jeopardy? Remember when HG was on here saying that Trey Wallace was wrong and all those suspended Gators were going to be back by Michigan when they paid back the money and nothing more.

I’ll roll with Wallace.

Facts are that HG is a homer Gator that knows absolutely nothing other than what he reads by Homer Gator Mods. I learned this quickly in the Byron Cowart thread.

I suggested Mac would get fired in 2018 and he scoffed at that too.

This is Chattvol06 on TOS. He's been full Gruden for weeks. Has a tattoo bet riding on it.

Currie is obsessed with hiring Gruden. He is going to do things differently than Hammy or Hart, so don’t expect as much UTAD sourced info this go around.

-Fulmer was hired to “fundraise.” In this case, Fundraise means be the behind the scenes agent for the AD to lay groundwork for new coach if Butch tanked this year. Butch tanked. He and Peyton will help with legwork until it’s time for Currie to do his thing. Fulmer loves UT, and he will do whatever he needs to for UT, including burying beef with Currie.

-Gruden is THE candidate at this time. All eggs are being thrown into the Grusket.

The key for me is they both were very successful with a spread based with Pace. Maybe the details were different but the main thing is they tried to run plays as quickly as possible. That trend is dying all over the country now and GM is now winning with elite defense. I can't see Kelly doing that.

His offenses ranked 2nd, 5th, and 12th in Philly

SF was a cluster, and still is even with him not there

There are plenty of coaches/offenses that have had success between the 20s but ultimately it's W/L and he didn't get it done.

After he was done in NFL..

"He was never known as a coach who logged long hours, like all the others. He was so sure of his playbook, that he never really adjusted or modernized his already-modern offense after defenses caught up. Nobody except the 49ers offered him a job last season -- only a few years after he was the most sought after coach in football. "Chip?" said a grinning NFL coach when we discussed him last year. "He's a good story."

Chip would , without question, be upgrade over Butch and I welcome that and would be happy. But IMO he's not the "HR" hire.
