Nice family. Hope he's been honest with his family about what he is going to face if he decides to accept if an offer has been made if Bahama John has even spoken with him if Haslam has signed off if Bev and Joe have signed off.

One of the proudest programs in college football history will be destroyed by the Haslam's. Why we don't have boosters than can overthrow them I'll never understand.

Goodness.

Excitement over the possibility of Gundy, then excitement over what we thought was a done deal with Brohm. And then we get Doeren?! Doeren?!

It's like the 2010 LSU and UNC games all over again. Excitement to despair in no time flat. Life of a vol fan. Sigh.

Based on how Currie has handled this search so far why not just keep Hoke and try and salvage this years recruiting class. I mean Brady is probably as good as anyone Currie can get at this point.

I’m with ya man. We have to unite and resist. There will be narratives pushed on us that he’s a “good coach” and a “disciplinarian”. Eff that. NCST fans didn’t want him back. We are getting the Kevin Stallings of college football. Vandy pushes him out and Pitt fans convinced themselves it would be a good hire and it’s been bad.

Our admin took a big steamy dump on the fans and former players by ignoring our calls for a good coach like tee or les miles. Well it’s time to ignore them. Do not buy into this guy (unless he miraculously starts winning championships but we know that’ll never happen)

Because the Haslams need to launder money through a coaching buyout or something. IDK.

You're directing your anger at the wrong people. If you were under-qualified for one of the best jobs in your career field, for a sinful amount of money, would you accept it?


This is on our administration. Period. Direct your anger at them. They have, for far too long, gotten a pass from fans.

I get it man. He should be smart enough to see that he’s not wanted in Knoxville though. If he accepts this job that means he’s willing to accept the criticism that comes with it. It’s his burden and if he wants to place that on his family then so be it

I'm not mad at Doeren at all. He probably knows he isn't cut out to be the long-term coach at NC State, let alone UT. But coaching at UT will net him at least $25 million. Then he can slink back into a G5 program somewhere in 2021.

I was thinking this morning, isn't Hoke a better candidate at this point than where we are on the list. He had a couple of good seasons at Michigan before it feel apart. Maybe he learned what not to do... Anyway we have leverage in that he is already under contract so he will accept, at least for the duration of his contract.

Well going Christmas shopping with the wife. For the life of me why would a coach want to come here when he already knows he isn't wanted and can take a new contract raise where they want him is beyond me.

DD was a really hot name after NIU. Was well respected at Wisconsin. The problem is he shouldn’t be the target unless other coaches told us no.

Let's be real damn clear he was a real hot name when we were hiring Butch. Since that time he has done less than Butch at an easier school.
It is over. Sad but it is over.

When AV, and skeet tell you we are headed for dark days when we are already in the dark, best buckle up.
