I really don’t understand the view that Mullen would fail here. He’s done better than Butch Jones while at Mississippi State. Makes no sense to think Mississippi State’s ceiling is the same as ours, unless folks just have a low view of Tennessee (which perhaps the Mehlenites do).

He wouldn't fail here but he wouldn't succeed either.

Tennessee deserves a championship coach. Not a guy who might win 10 games once and a while.

Dan Mullen is simply not worthy of the Tennessee job.

Lawrence Wright (Florida fan) in the NCAA forum claiming that Kelly is slipping away from the Gators.

I mean seriously, what coach would want a job that it’s possible to get fired after winning two eastern titles?

Spurrier left because he did didn’t feel his accomplishments were appreciated

Urban had a fake heart attack.

McElwain was miserable there.

Or you can go to UCLA and enjoy life.

No brainer

For better or worse a coach will get a fair shot here.

Urban's fake heart attack always makes me laugh. That's what George Costanza would do to get out of a job.

That ESPN article about CJM leaving was pretty damning of their situation.

None of them (except maybe Marlon Humphrey) have pro bowl potential. All are average NFL players at best like Josh Malone and Jalen Reeves-Maybin.

Compare that to Alvin Kamara who will be rookie of the year and a future Hall of Famer when his career ends.

Alabama produces mediocrity.

Tennessee produces GREATNESS.

Alabama had the most players named to the Pro Bowl last year

There is a rule that says with only certain amount of time left theres is no physical way to get a shot off. I'm not sure what that number is. If it's under a certain amount of time then the game/play is over.

0.3. 0.4 is enough time to get a shot off; see Derek Fisher vs Spurs.

No matter who the coach is, I will not accept a head-coach-in-waiting scenario. I absolutely loathe that concept, particularly when its contractually obligated. Pigeon hole city.

I’d take him over Mullen.

Fo sho. If I'm not mistaken, already has the same number of wins against ranked opponents as Mullen (or close to it). Lot more upside.

It was obvious how bad those FL teams were that Mac fielded. We even had those very discussions in here before he got fired.

This years team might be the worst Florida team I’ve ever seen.

You still in on Gruden? Everyone I talk to say it seems to be dead but they don't know why.

I haven't heard anything different really. Nothing that has changed my mind. Most of which wasn't coming from here anyway.

I find the new talk of someone being named by this time next week interesting considering no one can really nail down who he's even talking to for certain. Currie has "achieved surprise" to this point.

Still possible. IMO

I actually like Jimmy. This isn’t his arena though. Way too fast paced and way too much misinformation for a guy like Jimmy. He likes covering sports with a weekly phone call to a trusted source and a note pad in hand.

I don't. He's smug and acts like his audience is beneath him.
