Some? Did you get 100s of thousands of dollars worth of tuition paid? What you said is silly.

Whether it’s $10,000 or $100,000 makes no difference to the argument. Paid is paid.

For arguments sake, yes, all of my tuition was taken care of. You wouldn’t say I was paid, why would you with an athlete?

A die hard fan equates the kids giving their all for UT to being in a "dead-end" job?

I would have given anything to run through that tunnel and play in front of 102k+ on Saturdays. Not to mention leaving UT without any student loan debt, and establishing enumerous connections across the state and region as a UT football lettermen.

I hardly call that "dead-end". Its not the football program thats the laughing stock, its the fan base. And you, Mr. "Die-Hard" are a prime example why.

Don't conflate your desire to have played for UT as being the end all be all of being a fan. I can both pull for this team unequivocally and still accept that we are pretty far from a shiny beacon. You sound like an apologist and not a fan.

Forgot about drae?

Did you miss the part in my post about being pedantic?

It’s not a debate about a Merriam-Webster definition of the word. That isn’t hard to comprehend.

I’ve already clearly explained why there is sensitivity around the word. You can debate that or not. Looks like you’ve chose to not.

And why don't you answer the question? What do you call PEOPLE who are thugs?

I read the Gruden thread. I just don’t post. Enough posts in there without me adding to it. Once Gruden is hired the RF will be like Disneyworld everyday.

Gay meant happy in years past. The word was adopted by a grouping of people to change its meaning. It did for them, but not necessarily for everybody that knew the original definition of the word. That does not give the revisionists the right to vilify people for their use of the word as originally intended. Same with symbols.

Thug means what it means depending on the intention of the user. I was using the word as defined long before many of you were born. Some of you revise it to mean something different - that's your right. But you do not have that same right to vilify me for using it as originally defined.

It happens with many words including slang, such as "sick". That doesn't mean exceptional to me and many others.

What is a thug? I understand it be a synonym for a gang member. People have started using to describe mouthy black kids. Seems like a misappropriation of the word.

"Thug" was originally a term for a member of the Thuggee cult in India under British rule.

Very poor decision by JJ. But I don't see why he wasn't suspended indefinitely so the new HC could decide how to handle it. This staff is gone in four days, and they've been part of the problem. Let the new guy set the tone.
