He should have the connections and relationships built by now with his coaching acumen. He doesn’t. He can’t communicate and that’s a weakness. You’re being silly with the top 10 sarcasm...how about top 15 every now and then? Herman had one going in his second season...University of Houston!

Yea, Houston. Texas is loaded with recruits. Mississippi is not. To compare them is laughable

Don't get how people on here can talk about how great the Tennessee job is but think if Mullen becomes head football coach here, he'll get the same results he did at MSU. Never mind the fact that he'll be coaching at a program with far superior resources and tradition that's in the weaker division. It's common sense man.

Our classes will dip. Recruiting ain’t his jam.

Florida's last two hires were a coordinator and a guy who was okay at CSU. They may have hit a home run in Kelly, but we will have to see.

Georgia's last two hires were coordinators.

LSU's last two hires are an interim they settled for who'd been a failure at his last permanent gig and a guy who was okay at Oklahoma State.

All of this programs have had *significantly* more success than us since the turn of the century. They all have multiple conference titles, BCS/NY6 bowls, and, in the case of UF/LSU, two national titles a piece.

We have a couple of Outback Bowl trophies, a leather helmet from the Chick Fil A kickoff, and a Buy One Get One Half Off coupon for Sizzler.

Gruden, Patterson, Petersen would all be phenomenal. But they are all extremely unlikely. Almost no programs make home run hires, and the ones that do are often in far better shape than Tennessee is now (the glaring exception is Washington, which was as bad or worse than Tennessee is now when they nabbed Petersen).

Brent Venables, Dan Mullen, Scott Frost are all good football coaches. I'm not going to claw my eyes out over them.

Durkin, on the other hand, I will drink bleach over.

And be bleach, I mean beer.

Bleach beer.

We're going to hire a good coach. Could be Mullen, could be someone else.

I can't wait til our roles reverse back to normal and in 6 weeks you'll be touting how amazing Coach X's recruiting finish was and I'll come in here and temper expectations for next year.

We'll get back to normal, Ron. We have to.

Right. Ron will have us going 12-0 right before the season starts next year. No matter if it's Bozo or Gruden as head ball coach.

That’s what I’ve been thinking. If Butch can get us to 9 wins do we honestly believe Mullen couldn’t get us to 10-11 wins?

Because losing your best players who happens to be your QB and captain has zero effect in a rival game...... I hope he doesn't come here because the dumb statements acting like he is a bad coach are such a stretch

See you are operating on the assumption that this game today proves anything to me...I made up my mind on Mehllan a loooooooong time ago.

But they are losing....again.

Could you imagine how incensed TN fans would be if we were ranked 14th and losing to our unranked rival with an interim coach.

How many top 15 classes has Miss St pulled in in their history?

Just because you say you think they should be able to do something doesn’t make it a reality. He was at 18 year before last.

He has significantly improved their recruiting in his time there. Significantly. It’s night and day from where they were before him.
