Bama is the one team that I guarantee will get whoever they want when Saban is done. Whoever the top coach is at that time, they will back up the money truck and hand him the keys to the kingdom.

I’d love to whip them but if they are the reason coaches don’t want to come here (remains to be seen of course) then I don’t want to hold out hope for some future day when the tables turn. I’d rather fix things now by just ditching the series and plan on meeting them every year in the SEC title game, which we would do most years with Arkansas as our rival.

We should probably leave the SEC and join the AAC too. Then we can really win big!

I didn’t need his opinion to figure that out.

That quote from Hubbs is very weird. I would think a coach would choose his own staff. We must have a coach.

We have to. I haven’t seen whatveas said about Thomas, someone say he was for sure gonna be on staff?

He lost the Egg bowl for the 3rd time in 4 years, finished 8-4 and .500 or worse in his last 3 years in the conference. And he's probably gonna get an extension and a bump after the fact.

And he's perfectly content to keep doing that. That's a major red flag to me.

Something funky implies something negative but hiring Austin Thomas seems to be a good thing and indicates we may already have a coach. Frankly, Im sick of Matt's vague bs. Either post what you mean or dont post at all.

Sorry but to be a top notch football program, we've gotta find a coach that can manage players like Jennings. He's not some anomoly or horrible person. He's a college football player with some issues. Lots of great players have them. They don't have to be angels. But you have to have a coach that can keep players like that engaged and in the program. The goal is to build the best football team, not the best Sunday school class.

Egos are a part of it. Maybe Jennings was too far gone. Sounds like that's possible. But he's also the kind of player that would have died on the field for the Vols to help us win. It's a shame to see a guy like that tossed aside to me.

The truth all day long. Hyams may not be wrong, but he is an asshat for posting that.

A good coach would have a pulse on the state of his personnel and work with the university and a players family to head off any issues.

Hyams ought to be writing about that, not publicly dressing down a 20 year old kid with issues.

Was Thomas at LSU with Miles?

Would think so or Currie knows him from before and has followed his work tonuse that in his pitch to someone that maybe doesn't have Recruiting experience at all or specifically with this region

Hubbs posted something about Austin Thomas likely to be on staff.

We don’t have a coach but are getting info about potential staff members.

Strange

Thanks.

Yeah if he’s posting about hiring staff members we either have our guy or are very very confident who that will be.
