Bruin had a wet dream last night. It was a dream about Florida hiring Mullen and excelling there. The thought of him being able to say "I told you so" for years to come became too much for him to handle and now his sheets are in the dryer.

It's not a done deal yet. Nothing has been signed from what I'm told. They are in serious talks at this point.

I'm told it's close. I'm also told if it gets done than Schiano will stay at Ohio State till their season is over.

I just looked the Schiano/Penn St. stuff up because all I knew about it was what I had read on here. He spent 6 seasons at Penn St, 1990-95, and says he never knew anything about the Sandusky abuse.

Basically there is a third-hand account claiming that Schiano saw Sandusky doing something inappropriate and told a colleague. The obvious conclusion to be drawn is that beyond telling the colleague, Schiano did nothing.

Schiano, as I mentioned, denies knowing anything:

“I never saw any abuse nor had reason to suspect any abuse during my time at Penn State.” - Schiano.

Greg Schiano, Tom Bradley knew of Jerry Sandusky abuse at Penn State, documents show - The Washington Post

This is the problem. I just did the same thing. Researched how terrible of a human being our new coach is. Now I have to decide how can I ever defend this piece of garbage.

Regardless of what he knew or not. Someone told a story that he knew and did nothing. Every recruit and family will hear that story th entire time he is here.

Let's be honest-- the problem starts at the top. DiPietro wasn't a good hire. He's a hands-off leader with a narrow agenda. Cheek was a disaster. Then DiPietro et al got the bright idea that hiring a female chancellor would show how much UT supports diversity and Title IX. So they scrapped the list and had the search firm compile a new list of three females and a token male. Davenport was the least objectionable because she had a Southern accent and said she liked sports. Blackburn and Fulmer weren't good enough for Davenport, so she demanded we hire a second search firm to find a sitting P5 AD. Currie was trotted back as a compromise hire to smooth the ruffled feathers of those who wanted a Tennessee guy.

UT is a confederacy of dunces, top to bottom. They continue to hire dunces, so we are where we are.

Welp. We are gonna suck for another 15 years. See you guys when we have an administration that is serious about winning more than outback and tax slayer bowls.

Currie is an effing idiot.
Expensive and explosive?
Expensive because of the empty seats .
Explosive projectile vomiting over Schiano.

Nothing but a lackey bean counter who is going back to his master to tell him how much money he saved.

If they put Schiano on the stage, just delete my account Freak.

I shouldn’t really post on here anyways since I work for the university anyways, and that’s a sizable portion of the reason I post so infrequently now anyways. This hire will make it much easier for me to be a fan of their athletic’s program come next year when I most likely work for another school.

What an absolute joke. The darkest timeline just got darker.

Yeah, it looks like a pretty terrible decision on our part. My only hope at this point is that the backlash will cause Currie to hit the reset button on the search. Sadly though, it appears that the only opinion he cares about is his own.
