This. He could also afford lesser money because of the remaining SF payout. In 3 years they and he will know if it is going to work out. Win-win deal. Meanwhile he gets his preferred west coast in SoCal.

Oklahoma State's Mike Gundy can tell off boss and still get paid

In a wide-ranging interview with USA TODAY Sports at his office in Boone Pickens Stadium this past April – about a month before he signed an agreement that had been in the works since mid-June 2016 – Gundy alluded to the tension inherent in his relationship with the athletics administration.

“People get mad at me about something all the time,” he said.

"The people in this building right over here?” he added, pointing toward Gallagher-Iba Arena, which houses the administrative offices. “Hell, they stay mad at me 24/7. They’ll eventually run me off. They’ll get tired of me and run me off. But it is what it is.”

I won’t buy in if it is Pruitt. The only way changes will be made is if the UT AD has a dramatic loss in money. It needs to happen. The fans need to stop buying season tickets, merch, going to games, etc. it will really suck for the players, but it is the only solution to get things done.

Schiano is his guy and he's said stuff to him that reassured him it was done IMO. There are other ways to make it right, especially with Sexton involved. Have friends that have known Sexton all of his life. Even know his derogatory nickname that he doesn't want out there.

It’s happening. It’ll be him unless he takes the MSU job. He’s the worst option that’s been mentioned so it’s him. Unbelievable that they’ll consider and try to hire coordinators but won’t consider Tee. Sickening. They don’t care about the fans or the former players.

You guys are looking at this all wrong. You can't look at it from the fan perspective and who we would want and who we think is a fit. Step back and look at it from the national point of view and rank the coaches. Gundy, Leach, even Pruitt and Venables are too highly regarded IMO for us to be going in that direction. Chad Morris and Kevin Steele are the options that we will be left with, or worse IMO.

Me too. Plus would be a different direction for TN to have a defensive minded head coach. Plus he knows the SEC like the back of his hand. Most say he can be a little rough around the edges. That's fine. Most good head coaches are. I'd take him over Morris in a heartbeat.
