Picking a coach when you are desperate is a lot like grocery shopping when you are hungry. You put a bunch of crap in your basket thats bad for you that you always regret later

Steele is not going to come be the DC here. People need to stop saying so and so would be good if Steele came as DC. He will be in the playoff this year as DC. He’s not taking that position here.

Same. If Gundy came here after everything that’s happened, that would be great. I just don’t think he will come. He’s had 2 chances already and played us for a raise each time.

These media guys can literally just recycle their 5 year old stories at this point.

This has to be an effort to lower fan expectations, right? Has to be. They’re not calling any of these decent coaches who are allegedly interested. They’re calling people they know won’t come here.

Yes, this. The all-star staff stuff is every bit the fan fiction as Bahama John smokescreening his way into a surprise announcement of Gruden at halftime of MNF.

Administrative education programs should have Tennessee's coaching searches as case studies. We make every wrong move you can possibly imagine.

I’ve crapped on Hyams this coaching search, but he’s been more informed than what I thoight. If he’s hearing that we’re actually in contact with Gundy that gives me hope that we haven’t resigned to scrapping the bottom of the barrel.

Cowherd said yesterday on his show that UT needs to throw big money at a big coach publicly. If they turn you down ok, but you’ve shown the nation (and other coaches) you’re willing to pay for a good coach.

I’m glad we’ll never know, but I do wonder how low season ticket sales would have been if they had finalized Schiano.

They obviously might be very low regardless.

I have to think it's easier to recruit to Knoxville, Tennessee than it is to Stillwater, Oklahoma.
