I'd like to say I'm shocked at how incompetent, how ignorant the leaders of this university are, but we've all known this for nearly a decade. We've just ignored the fact and hoped. They've continuously bashed this fanbase and laid blame for misfortune on unreasonable fans and their expectations, when the reality of the situation is we are nothing more than pawns for them. They do not care about our passion. They don't care about our opinions. They only care about getting our butts in seats, and making us reach for our wallets. That's it. It's pitiful to sit here and watch this misery. It embarrassing, it's disheartening, and crushed my faith in the school I hold dearly. It's a tough pill to swallow, and many wouldn't want to admit it, but this is exactly what needs to happen to spark change. The University of Tennessee is currently in dire need of a mass exodus beginning at the top. Allow them to continue making a fool of themselves and their decisions. It is likely the best thing. I hate it for the players, us as fans, and all the alumni and people who love UT. But this is no longer the UT I grew up as a child admiring. This is not the same UT that John Ward covered, and could make a grown man cry with his unabashed emotion on the calls. We've lost our way, completely. Let them fail in the public eye and under intense scrutiny. Don't go back on your pledge and fill that stadium next year. It will only harbor and exacerbate the problem. They take this fanbase and alumni for granted and assume we will just bow and support them and give them our money no matter the circumstance. It's time that changes.
