If Doeren is hired we support HIM until given a reason not to.

Have no issue with bashing the AD, administration, boosters, etc. that are responsible for this mess.

Cowboy of dagfart fame on here disappeared one day a few years ago, he went running through the woods with my Houndog Junior, junior cane back next day . Searched for 3 days. Sucked really bad. I have Cowgirl now, another red heeler

I've still got my red heeler, Heff. He still farts all the time. Sorry to hear about Cowboy.

What’s crazy is if he had not been at NC St and was coming off the 12 - 1 he had prior, we would be cool with it.

Weren't they undefeated and lost in the orange bowl?

Nvm looked it up lost to Iowa then won 12 strait and lost to fsu in the orange

Brohm agreed but president or Bev wouldn’t sign off on contract Currie offered. Sent him back to offer lower which he didn’t take but didn’t say no so maybe initial offer would get him. Moved on to Doern but Morris still possible

What in the bloody...

They send him there to sign the man, then won’t sign off on it? They literally have no idea what they are doing

That mentality is why we are in this damn mess in the first place! The admin are counting on us being a bunch of damn sheep and supporting whoever they hire no matter how crappy a choice!

The Haslams forcing a turd of a hire on us is like the telecoms and politicians forcing us to accept the death of net neutrality. War of attrition. Eventually the public (fans) get tired and give up.

I don’t think net neutrality means what you think it means, scheme setup to control a market helps the big guys, makes it impossible for the little guys

Yeah, I have to agree. I don't like the hire, but I will support him as coach. Maybe he will have learned from his mistakes. I hope he has a great staff though.

in the last 24 hours, tennessee has spoken with multiple potential candidates, including smu’s chad morris and purdue’s jeff brohm, per sources.

Currie never met face-to-face with brohm for a formal interview on wednesday. It’s been confirmed that brohm spent a good portion of the day recruiting in kentucky.

Manning was involved in conversations with brohm as part of tennessee’s vetting process.

Despite a report earlier wednesday that brohm had accepted a deal to become the vols’ head coach, sources tell volquest.com that discussions with brohm never got that serious.

With no formal discussions, there was no ‘monkey wrench’ thrown into the works by chancellor beverly davenport as some reports have suggested. Tennessee never reneged on a deal. As a high-ranking university source told volquest.com earlier wednesday, reports of the administration blocking a deal were 100% inaccurate.

So where does that leave us now?

As of late wednesday afternoon the search seems to have centered in on n.c. State head coach dave doeren, who we would now term as the favorite to emerge from this as the vols’ new head coach, per a source.

Doeren certainly isn’t the most high profile name to have emerged in the search but within the acc, doeren has a solid reputation, and as one coach told volquest.com, “dave doeren is a winner. He’s tough-minded and a good leader. The best thing i can say about him is he’s a football coach.”

Well, so far very time someone has said we are about to hire someone they have been wrong. All we can hope for now is that they are wrong again.
