I'm nobody on a message board here in the internet wasteland. Where have you seen me attack Peyton? Before all of the recent rumors, I wondered if he may be jelly of Tee doing what he couldn't in college (beat UF; Ntl Champs). He gets the benefit of the doubt, but it's silly, imo, to run to his defense every time his "honor" is questioned. Whatevs, it don't matter.

Didn't realize Doren or whatever his name is was Wisconsin DC under Beliema..... be interesting if he got him on staff as Asst HC/OC or Asst HC/OL

This. We had to have been down the road today with him - Jimmy doesn’t report nonsense and we all know he’s never in front of the story. Could be we’re waiting for the buyout to drop $1M. Really hard right now but maybe we just need to be patient. For the record, I’m connected with a guy on his staff that was also with him at Purdue who said today it was done and Brohm was headed to Knoxville.

You're right. He's no where near my top choice, but we need to step back and admit there hasn't been one single coach mentioned that we were all sure about. Even Gruden had plenty of doubters. It wasn't that long ago that many people were cringing at the thought of Mullen.

We just really don't know. Look at his resume and compare it to a couple of the others that we thought were better. Really no difference. In fact, DD's may be better. I'm not excited about it, but I'm willing to give it a chance knowing I don't really know who would work out and who wouldn't.

I've been kind of taking my cue from you people here re the coaches I really don't know about. Guess what? Y'all have been all over the place in your opinions. I'm choosing to trust PM and PF. That's all I've got.

The die was cast on this hire they day we passed on Blackburn for Currie.

Face it guys, we're beat. The Haslam's didn't get their pick, and they are using Currie to stick it to the fans and the other boosters.

To be honest, the search ending up like this is one of the reasons I wasn't at all onboard with firing Butch last year. I was afraid things would get much, much worse.

If he'd have won the games he should have this year, we'd be 8-4 or so and while people would be grumbling, it wouldn't be this. It wouldn't be the death of UT football.

I’ve seen your posts dude. This wasn’t your first rodeo. Haven’t defended every attack on here. Just when I have a spare moment. So he hates Tee for winning a NC at his alma mater but is tight buds with Tom Brady who’s tripled his Super Bowl wins?

I asked this earlier but didn't get a response but if they hate him so much why not just fire him? Not happy if we do hire him and I don't want him but unless there is a huge buy out why wouldn't a AD just fire him? Cause he went 8-4? serious question. And again by no means am I supporting him just really wondering why put up with him and surely currie would hear that about him if vetted right.

Maybe the admin that said no was purdue's? Maybe TN asked to let the buyout go down a week early and the said no?

Maybe the DD stuff is more fake news to speed up the ousting of Currie.

I just can't imagine anyone wants this hire except maybe Haslam (and by extension Currie, Bev, and Happy DiPietro).
