Kiffin is 100000% not coming here. Take that in blood. Also, Currie isn’t getting fired...would not be wise to lose 5million dollars right now. But yea totally agree. Just because it’s not exactly what you want doesn’t mean it’s automatically a bad hire.

Not arguing with you, just using this to make points about the buyout and the horrible thinking dominating UT. It's $100,000 per month - not $5 MM lump sum at once. What do they think the revenue losses will be by leaving the lame duck jack azz in the role? Multiple times more.

There are no quality coaches coming here with him and Haslam running point without significantly overpaying - which is the same thing as buying out Currie. Season ticket sales will be headed south of 50,000 at this rate. Now add in that donations will dive even worse than ticket sales.

It's over. The 10 year fool 'em while we can ride into the pit of misery is complete. We are now the worst program in the SEC. Any hiring now has to be based on the upside and potential to recover. There is none with these wannabe Butch Version 2.0's. We have proved it over 10 years.

Jimmy Haslam screwed this up with his handpicked top UT management crew when they chose Currie. Did they honestly believe that Snyder would not tank every reference call he got on him in the future and tell everybody he knew at every coaching convention? It's the same with the Browns. No quality free agent will ever go there if they have other viable options. We are that until there is a top leadership change, but the first step is to get rid of all of the incompetency directly linked to the football program. That's Currie, then Bev, then DiPietro. Will let the FBI handle Jimmy Haslam for now. If he slips through, the NCAA can.

Guys, we have a really rare opportunity right now to get rid of the Haslams while we are all united in our anger. DO NOT this opportunity slip away. Take to the streets of campus, stay on Twitter, make your voices heard every way you an NOW. Put. On. More. Steam.

Direct it at Haslam instead of this fire Currie crap.

No, we're not. Having a crappy coach for the last 8 years is what's making this worse. If we get outraged against a crappy hire, it won't make it any worse at all.

If we don't get outraged and let it happen then it's all over anyways and we'll get outraged at more bad football later.

Everybody needs to chill out. Seriously.

Doeren isn’t my guy, but you look at guys like Saban and Miles and their records at their pre-SEC pit stops weren’t exactly great (similar to Doeren or maybe worse).

If it is Doeren, it is. We need to support it. The toxicity of this fan base is holding this program back. Nobody here wants to hear it, but it absolutely is. We need positive energy around this program, not energy vampires (😉). Seriously, though, this reaction to Doeren is disastrous for us as a program, and negativity once he’s hired (if he will even come) will handicap him badly.

STOP IT. PLEASE.

This is the problem. Everyone supports a mediocre hire out of principle and that makes it all worse, because it shows this fanbase is accepting of mediocrity.

If everyone continues to go pack out Neyland, renew season tickets, buy the merchandise, etc. it doesn't actually show displeasure in what's going on. A lack of vocal support does not matter, but a lack of monetary support does.

He's not who I want, but I agree with you. We're only making things worse.

I don't think the venom is aimed so much at the coach(es) now as it is at the admin, that is the true problem, rid the poison there and things can bloom again

Chill? Chill? I've chilled for the last 10 years. I've supported the crap we've hired as coaches and invested emotionally in them. I now KNOW that the crap I've endured for the last 10 years has been the product of a narcissistic a$$hole who has run the Vol football program into the ground and you are asking us to support his next hire. Ain't gonna happen. If I were face to face with you and you told me to chill, I'd probably punch your lights out. I'm done chilling and supporting crap. If we have to burn it down to effect a change in power at UT, I'm for it. Chill that.

We supported butch and Dooley. Pretty sure the fanbase support or lack thereof is 0% if what's holding this program back.

It’s not wholly to blame, but it certainly doesn’t help. Seems like a couple of our players came out recently and basically said they realized they need to buy in to whoever the new coach is in order to succeed. That indicates to me that they feel like that was a problem this year, which isn’t surprising. When the whole world (led by Vol fans) is ridiculing your head coach constantly, how do you expect them to buy in and respect him in the locker room? How do you expect a Cade Mays to buy in? You just can’t.

The relentless negativity hurts this program. Right now, nobody will touch this job, and it is in large part because of that toxicity.

Have to burn it down before you can rebuild at this point. Supporting a crappy administration won't get he crappy administration out. I'd rather lose Cade Mays and root out the problem by refusing to support this administration than put up with this bad administration for another decade because they keep getting our support.

Told my wife tonight if they hire Doeren, I'm not planning to buy my season tickets next year and we'll have more time for Saturday hikes next fall

Enough is enough.

Call Tee.

Again, this isn't just about Doeren. It's about Doeren on top of Jones on top of Dooley on top of incompetence throughout the AD and the university.
