Seriously, though, this reaction to Doeren is disastrous for us as a program, and negativity once he’s hired (if he will even come) will handicap him badly.

I agree. I can’t imagine mass protests and fire Currie chants if Tee is hired.

Fact is most people we are talking with and that would take the job at this point likely can’t hack it and will get canned here in the 3 to 4 years anyway.

Why not just roll the dice with Tee?

I have a friend that is a big Wolfpack fan. I think at one point Doeren was kind of a hot name coming from Northern Illinois where we won a lot of ball games. My buddy is kind of "meh" on him...his best season was this past season at 8-4. Not great but not awful. It's about all you can say at this point....

Agree. Fans won't but should start to recognize we are funneling this towards a futile position even if people did want to make good choices.

If we hire Doeren I will be mad at the administration for botching the process, but not Doeren. If he gets the opportunity, I hope he succeeds.

Our situation is kinda like this right now....

We are down 8. 30 seconds left. We are backed up on our own 5 yard line. We know we need a miracle to score and then still have to convert the 2pt conversion just to send it to overtime where we will need to play well to win.

Hiring Dave Doereen would be like taking a knee.

Les Miles is like sneaking to scoring booth and scoring an extra 4 without people realizing what happened.

No we do NOT need to support MORE loser, ignorant crap from the administration. That’s why we are where we are now, years of supporting a bunch of bumbling idiots who don’t care about winning and don’t even understand that going cheap on coaches then having to pay their buyout costs more money than it saves.

I think it’s unreal to think they haven’t reached out to Tee Martin to just ask him his thoughts on a plan if he was hired. That’s a phone call you have to make even if you aren’t sure he is ready.

Chad Morris would bring Dan Brooks and possibly Marion Hobby back with him plus I’m told other orange flavor but Tennessee didn’t go in that direction.

Steele would be heavy orange on his staff with Chavis and others.

But appears Doeren is likely the guy getting the nod and why? Because Butch let the inmates run the asylum and now they want a no nonsense coach.

That indicates to me that they feel like that was a problem this year, which isn’t surprising. When the whole world (led by Vol fans) is ridiculing your head coach constantly, how do you expect them to buy in and respect him in the locker room? How do you expect a Cade Mays to buy in? You just can’t.

The relentless negativity hurts this program. Right now, nobody will touch this job, and it is in large part because of that toxicity.

Neither you nor Dick Vitale nor anyone is taming the fanbase at this point so it ain’t worth trying.

Currie needs to make a hire that won’t trigger more protests. Tee is the answer right now.
