Other than that, my ideal scenario for next season is that Mariota shows tons of promise, but the defense still sucks and we end up #1 or #2 in the 2016 draft.

Then trade down, load up the roster, and enter 2016 with a legit QB and a team ready to compete.

VQ has a spring practice recap up with all their writers' opinions of how it unfolded and their feelings on the team.

Basically, all of them agree that the Vols look light years better than any season in recent memory and that Butch Jones and the rest of the coaches are quietly confident about their chances of being successful this year. Also noted that the roster is nearing "upper echelon in the SEC" level.

Injuries will be the biggest limiting factor, as we've said all along, but a healthy team should be competitive in every game this year.

I've seen more than one person say that and it's all I can think of. He is a great athlete, quick, strong, and can even cover/ diagnose plays

If the streak ends, the blame is not so much on Coleman's shoulders as much as it's on Dooley's poor recruiting, and then even more than that: on AJ Johnson's poor decision making

He's slightly to somewhat better than what I thought he was...which was atrocious.

I was hard on Coleman because he had a tendency to get beat but he did lead the team in INT's IIRC.

Looked at a lot of mock Drafts for 2016.

We could have 2 players go in the first round!

Agreed. Also if you have mm rated as a potential top 10 caliber qb then then there is no way you trade out of that spot

I would have certainly considered rivers but other than that no thanks

You have to have a QB to be good. If you think mm can be that guy you draft him, develop him, and startmajing the playoffs

Maybe the Cowboys will take Coleman as an apology for Dooley being our coach for 3 years, and putting us in position to end the streak of consecutive years having a player drafted.
