Nah. A while ago there was an SI article that absolutely trashed Dooley for this. It was along the lines of "if Butch Jones were a more vengeful man he'd force a certain WR Coach at Dallas to come to Tennessee's pro day and explain to the scouts why there is a dearth of players..."

It was actually so harsh on Dooley that it shocked me as usually sports writers aren't quite that blunt about it.

I'm just saying though, I think Marcus will be a day one starter. Their draft picks have made me come to that conclusion.

I don't think so. The one I read was absolutely direct about it and talked about our pro day. It wasn't word for word what I put in quotes (my memory isn't that good) but it was VERY close.

ETA: Just to make sure I'm seeing what you intended, I had to modify that link to get it to work. It pulls up an article entitled "Butch Jones out to spark a renaissance at Tennessee." If so that's not the one.

Did anyone take the tackle from LSU? If not I would use a 7th round pick on him and force his hand.

He wants to go back into the draft in 2016 but can't if he's drafted this year right?

Wrong...if he's drafted and doesn't sign by the 10th game, he can reenter the draft...if he's undrafted, it would be like Tiny Richardson trying to go to the next draft after going unselected...I think his agent was stupid with that threat.

That's stupid. The team that selects a guy loses a pick????

NFL needs to look at that policy. To me, the player would be untouchable for making that threat with that rule. Good luck in the CFL

Most guys aren't going to sit out a year because they don't like their draft position...usually there's a reason they were drafted so low, and their stock ain't going up without playing. Not a floodgate of candidates going that route, so they usually suck it up and try to get big money on their NEXT contract. You can't let every undrafted guy keep reentering the draft...imagine the mess!

Im hoping for Mr Irrelevant. They would have a story to put behind it, and that would give us more publicity and bring attention to recruits that we put kids in the NFL every year.

Yes but Dooley didn't make AJ throw away his career.


I'm not saying he's guilty. I'm saying guys need to be more proactive in controlling their futures. Don't put yourself in questionable situations.
