Just watch fights that have Russian names involved... No dancing exhibitions there.
Old school boxing is dead??? How many MMA fighters have pulled in $100 million plus just for one fight?
As long as MMA proceeds are all falling into the pocket of one man, it'll never be as big a sport as boxing.
An exciting, American heavyweight would make bank. Boxing would climb back up the spectator sport hierarchy in a hurry.
Check out Deontay Wilder on YouTube for an example of what an exciting heavyweight might look like. Too bad the kid is a Bama fan...
It's no different than other major sports. You have the heads or top guys making bank and it trickles down. So far I don't really have a problem with what The UFC is doing with paying fighters. I do have a problem with the drug use that is seeming to run rampant within the program though with no real punishment.
Jon Jones biggest problem is that no one held him accountable for so many years. He just acted like a douche and now he is in too deep to ignore.
Do you really want 20 different promoters and belts not knowing who the best MMA fighter really is? I don't.
if you cant look at our rb depth and wrs who cant stay on the field then thats on you. We are razor thin and ppl on here think we are SEC contenders. we have 2 running backs and one has had shoulder surgery twice in a yr and a half. We have about 3 corners. maybe. From a depth standpoint that class was not what we expected. we lost a ton of the class. some people dont wanna see the facts.
RB depth- when Kelly and Bruce get here in the summer, we'll have 4 scholarship RBs. So, 2 of the top SEC RBs plus 2 freshmen at a minimum. Not sure where RDV will play, but he may be #5
WRs- depth is beginning to be a concern for sure, especially if Von doesn't return. North, Pig, Smith, Johnson, Croom...gotta hope PWill is ahead of schedule with his rehab and ready to go.
CBs- Sutton, Moseley, Forman with Martin, Miller and Abernathy coming in. Gaulden at nickel. That's 6-7 to work with, although 2-3 more experienced players would be ideal. Fortunately, they'll be playing alongside some very experienced safeties.
As far as what we lost from the 2014 class, it's hard to know how significant the losses will end up being. Would've been nice to keep Hendrix, Helm and Wharton, but beyond those 3, losing Scott, Payne, Paulk, Henderson and Sawyers doesn't seem to be that big a deal at the moment. Iirc, we still have 25 players on the roster from that historic class. Your point about needing to keep guys healthy this (like every) year is well taken, while your point that the 2014 class is now "trash" is not.
